My Morning Prayer: Experiencing God’s Best In 2025

(Inspired by the ancient hymn, Be Thou My Vision)
 
Jesus is the very best thought my mind can dwell upon, regardless of the day.
 
My fellowship with Him is the deepest relationship my heart can experience, and His honor is the purest motivation my will can choose. 
 
Pleasing Him raises the level of my joy to its highest level and leaves me without regrets.
 
Fully trusting Him empties my soul of all the fears and worries that fuss about within me.
 
Jesus—the light I need to walk. The strength I need to stand. The truth I need to truly know what is best! 
 
He is first in everything (Colossians 1:18 NLT).
 
For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily... (Colossians 2:9 NKJV).
 

My Morning Prayer

My Sweetest Lord Jesus, as I come to You on the cusp of the New Year, please keep these things in my heart and on my mind. Make them my song and my prayer. That You and Your Words alone are truly the very best thoughts my mind can dwell upon. My fellowship with You is the deepest relationship my heart can experience, and Your honor is the purest motivation my will can choose. That pleasing You raises the level of my joy to its highest level and leaves me without regrets. That fully trusting You empties my soul of all the fears and worries that fuss about within me, distracting me and taking my eyes off of You, and that You, Jesus, are the light I need to walk, the strength I need to stand, and the truth I need to know what is truly best. May the coming year see Your will for my life come into bloom, as I set aside my wants and heed to Your leading in my life—mind, spirit, soul, physically, and emotionally. I want to be all that You desire of me. In Jesus's name, amen.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Here at Meeting in the Meadow, we want to take time with our loved ones to focus on the birth of Jesus and the promises of the Scriptures regarding His birth. We pray that you will be blessed by the following Scriptures, and encouraged to take time to hide these in your heart and share them with those you love. We will see you next week, when we turn our hearts towards all that God provides for us in the coming year!

Scripture promised Him.
For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6 NLT).

Abraham believed in Him.
Just as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”? Know then that it is whose of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, forseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ. This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void. For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise (Galatians 3:6-8, 16-18 ESV).

Moses lived for Him.
By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict. By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward (Hebrews 11:23-26 NIV).

David knew Him.
Later, as Jesus was teaching the people in the Temple, he asked, “Why do the teachers of religious law claim that the Messiah is the son of David? For David himself, speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, said, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies beneath your feet.’ Since David himself called the Messiah ‘my Lord,’ how can the Messiah be his son?” The large crowd listened to him with great delight (Mark 12:35-37 NLT).

Mary magnified Him.
And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior (Luke 1:46-47 NKJV).

Shepherds declared Him.
Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds (Luke 2:17-18 NKJV).

Simeon looked upon Him.
And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said: “Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word; For my eyes have seen Your salvation Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples, A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel” (Luke 2:25-32 NLT).
 
Wise men worshiped Him.
On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh (Matthew 2:11 NIV).
 
All will acknowledge Him…
Jesus Christ the Lord!
Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11 NLT).

May God draw you to His quiet waters of peace, to the lowly place of worship, to the joy of His presence, and to the glory of salvation - Jesus Christ the Lord!

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know’ (Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV).

Plans

Mary had her plans.
Exciting, life changing plans, filled with excitement and expectations. Marriage. A new life. A new home. 
 
A hundred new dreams about her future were soon to begin. 
 
Then an angel appeared. God’s messenger, proclaiming God’s message. Unexpectedly! Boldly! Prophetically! A message that gave Mary a hundred reasons to say “no”. 
 
But she didn’t! 
 
She said “yes” to God’s “yes” for her future. And Mary’s “yes” changed the future of each of us who believe. Forever!
 
Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word" (Luke 1:38).

My Morning Prayer

Thank You Lord, for giving us a hope and a future with You. Thank You for placing obedience and courage in Mary, so long ago. Thank You that she set an example of faith that we can lean on still today.

As we get closer to the celebration of Christmas, help us to remember the spoken and written prophecies from before You were born—the miracles that took place, the steps of faith that had to happen, and preparations and details to make each prophecy stand true. Help us to draw on these truths as we face challenges in our life today, remembering that You have laid a foundation of Your plans for our life and that You will bring all things to pass in Your perfect timing. Help us to draw from the courageous life of Mary, and so many others, who said "yes!" to Your will, for such a time as this. It's in Jesus's name we pray, amen.

Our salvation does not come by trusting in what we do for God, but in what God has done for us through the work of His Son. It is a perfect work, a finished work, and a final work.
 
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law (Romans 3:28).
 
…We are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all (Hebrews 10:10).

Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly (Psalm 5:3 NLT).

I asked God if my life could be significant.
He said, “Your highest place is at the feet of others.”
 
In the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:7 NKJV).

Jesus, the Champion

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His government and its peace will never end (Isaiah 9:6–7 NLT).
 
Jesus is the Champion of all champions…no one comes close! All His titles are eternal; He has always held them, and no one in heaven or on earth has ever taken them away…no one ever will. His throne, His greatness, His glory, His dominion, His authority, and His kingdom are settled forever. Leave all with Him, place all before Him, trust all to Him.

My Morning Prayer

Lord God, thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus. Thank You for this season that we can remember, and celebrate His arrival on earth. Thank You for the foretelling of His coming, His life on earth, and His soon return. Thank You that we can wait expectantly for Him to fulfill the rest of the promises that Your Word tells us will come to pass. May We continue to walk in the knowledge and truth of His life and remember that His throne, greatness, glory, dominion, authority and kingdom are already settled forever. That You are not surprised, caught off guard, or in despair, for You know all things, and are aware of everything going on in my life, and in this world. Be at work in them, and may Your kingdom come, Your will be done. May our hearts be in tune with Yours as we celebrate this season of Jesus's birth. It's in His name we pray, amen.

Words to Share His Heart

My tongue is the pen of a ready writer (Psalm 45:1 NKJV).
 
Hear what the Spirit is saying.
Write holy words.
Overflow with goodly themes.
Declare freeing truth.
Speak in gracious tones.
Dip your pen in the ink of light.
 
Write as expectantly as the dawning of a new day, as boldly as the brightness at high noon, and as tenderly as the hues painted across the sky at sunset.

Write with the light that causes kingdom seeds to grow.

Write with the consolation that will dry the tears of the brokenhearted.

Write with words that shed light upon a darkened pathway, hope upon an anxious soul, and understanding upon those who seek to know the way.

Write words that dance like starlight, beam like moonlight, and glow like candlelight, even on the darkest night.
 
Be a ready writer.

My Morning Prayer

Thank You, Lord, for this day. Thank You for Your love and provisions for me. Thank You that You don't leave me alone...You are always calling to me, beckoning me to sit and commune with You. Thank You for the testimony of Your Word at work in my life—in me, through me, and all around me. Give me wisdom Lord, to know when to share the words that tell of the work You have done and continue to do in me. It is never about what I have done...how far I have come, but what You have done, and continue to do in my life. May You be glorified in my life, my HIStory, and every tomorrow that You walk with me through. I want to bring Your Light and Hope to a hurting world, that they may be glorified in and through You too. In Jesus's name, amen.

Where Would We Be Without Jesus?

Without Jesus’s words we would be witnesses with nothing to say; Without Jesus’s authority we would be ambassadors with nothing to do; Without Jesus’s love we would be servants with nothing to give.

Found in Him

Jesus is above all things, and He transcends all things—being found in Him means that you have found completeness! Nothing is missing, nothing is lacking, nothing falls short, nothing fails, and nothing disappoints that is found in Him, for all that we find in Him is perfectly good, perfectly right, and perfectly wonderful.

I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him (Philippians 3:8–9 NKJV).

My Morning Prayer

Thank You Lord for everything I find in You. Thank You for remaining above all things, and transcending all things—nothing is a surprise to You and You remain in control, even when all I see is confusion and crazy around me. Thank You for being the Peace in my storms, the Physician to my sickness and the Perfect One in all that is scattered around me. Lord, heal me, be at work in me and around me. I give it all to You, and acknowledge that it has all been Yours from the start. Teach me to leave it at Your feet and to not pick it up again. I want to gain You and be found in You this morning, and every moment of today. In Jesus's name, amen.

Not for Sale

Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters;
And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat.
Yes, come, buy wine and milk
Without money and without price (Isaiah 55:1 NKJV).
 
The good things God has for your life are not for sale. His riches aren’t. His fruits aren’t. His gifts aren’t, and His blessings aren’t. Yet, they are all available to you. Freely!
 
Your pockets may be empty, but your heart can be filled with heaven’s most valuable treasures.
 
Anything material you buy will not add an ounce of peace to your heart. Peace, and every kingdom treasure, can only come to your heart through the presence of the Holy Spirit. His treasures come to you because of grace. You receive them through faith. That is your currency. That is how you buy the things that are not for sale and last forever!

the right over the popular,
the true over the questionable,
the light over the shadowed,
the extraordinary over the mediocre,
the eternal over the momentary,
the pure over the tainted,
Jesus over all!

Choose today whom you will serve (Joshua 24:15 NLT).

Father, as I sit with You this morning, help me to choose You and Your ways in every area of my life. Remind me of the eternal benefits of walking with You over the temporary and momentary pleasures of this world. I want to keep my gaze heavenward, my eyes fixed on our forever, together. Nothing in this world compares to You! In Jesus' name, amen.
