God has Promised: God’s Strength

God has Promised: God’s Strength
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

As your days, so shall your strength be. “There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to help you, And in His excellency on the clouds. The eternal God is your refuge, And underneath are the everlasting arms; He will thrust out the enemy from before you.” (Deuteronomy 33:25-27 NKJV).

Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hands are power and might; in Your hands it is to make great and to give strength to all (1 Chronicles 29:12 AMP).

The LORD will give strength to His people (Psalm 29:11 NKJV).

He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams (Psalm 23:2 NLT).

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear (Psalm 46:1-2 NKJV).

My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us (Psalm 62:5-8 NKJV).

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness (Isaiah 41:10 KJV).

But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me! (2 Corinthians 12:9 AMP).

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10 NKJV).

Drawing Near: Blessings

Drawing Near: Blessings
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Today, may the blessing of God come in fullest measure—to you, in you, on you, over you, around you, and within you;
May you know and experience the fullest measure of His favor—His hand working all things for the good on your behalf;
May you know the smile of His pleasure—knowing that all is well between your heart and His;
May He provide you with the means and the opportunities to bring the heart of His goodness to others—blessing them in ways they never expected.
May God bless you in a way that is perfectly suited for you!

All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said to them as he blessed them, blessing each one according to the blessing suited to him (Genesis 24:28 AMP).

My Monday Prayer: Hardships Working for the Good

My Monday Prayer: Hardships Working for the Good
Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

Hardships Working for the Good
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser (John 15:1 NKJV).

God is working all things together for a greater good:
Wheat is crushed before it is turned to bread.
Incense is cast upon the fire before the fragrance within is set free.
Soil feels the blade of the plow before the seed is planted.
Pressure is applied before the diamond can be formed.
Irritants are added before pearls are created.
Gold is refined before it becomes pure.
Wine is poured from vessel to vessel before its taste is sweet.
Vines are pruned before they produce much fruit.

My Monday Prayer
-Marina Bromley

My Precious Father God, You walk through each valley by my side, often leading me to sweeter pastures. I know that I am not immune from hard situations in life, help me to remember that You are using it for my benefit. Grow me to maturity, helping me to see the benefit of each trial, and to recognize Your hand at work in each circumstance. I need You in my life every day and want to give my time with You as a priority, not just to benefit me but to grow and equip me to better serve others. Thank You for being so faithful to work all things for the good, in Your time. In Jesus' name, amen.

God has Promised: God’s Victory

God has Promised: God’s Victory
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and the earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and Yours it is to be exalted as Head over all (1 Chronicles 29:11 AMP).

For You are my hiding place; You protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory (Psalm 32:7 NLT).

How the king rejoices in Your strength, O LORD! He shouts with joy because You give him victory. For You have given him his heart’s desire; You have withheld nothing he requested. You welcomed him back with success and prosperity. You placed a crown of finest gold on his head. He asked You to preserve his life, and You granted his request. The days of his life stretch on forever (Psalm 21:1-4 NLT).

The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but deliverance and victory are of the Lord (Proverbs 21:31 AMP).

You are my King, O God; Command victories for Jacob. Through You we will push down our enemies; Through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us. For I will not trust in my bow, Nor shall my sword save me. But You have saved us from our enemies (Psalm 44:4-7 NKJV).

As for me, I will call upon God, and the Lord will save me. Evening and morning and at noon will I utter my complaint and moan and sigh, and He will hear my voice. He has redeemed my life in peace from the battle that was against me [so that none came near me], for they were many who strove with me (Psalm 55:16-18 AMP).

Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD’S, and He will give you into our hands (1 Samuel 17:47 NKJV).

But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This [peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord [those in whom the ideal Servant of the Lord is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification], says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17 AMP).

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57 NKJV).

Drawing Near: Confidence in Prayer

Drawing Near: Confidence in Prayer
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Nothing has stopped in heaven—
Grace still abounds;
Mercies are still new this morning;
Blessings are still being poured out;
Prayers are still being heard and answered;
Grace still abounds;
Angels are still ministering;
Jesus is still interceding;
The Holy Spirit is still working;
God is still on the throne;
The return of the Lord is still on schedule!

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; And let them say among the nations, "The Lord reigns" (1 Chronicles 16:31 NKJV).

My Monday Prayer: He Invites You to Draw Near

My Monday Prayer: He Invites You to Draw Near
Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

He Invites You to Draw Near
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith (Hebrews 10:22 NKJV).

Prayer is for time, not for eternity. Now you are a pilgrim with needs to be met and people to minister to along the way. One day you will be in your Father’s house and the need for asking will have passed away, and only praise will remain. In Jesus, your future is secure and your destiny certain. Today is the time to bring before Him all those who, like you, are in need of hope and encouragement on their journey home.

My Monday Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Oh Father, God! How I await the time I can be with You and sit at Your feet in Heaven. How I will worship You alongside my loved ones that have gone before. I will have no questions, no hesitations, no loneliness, no pain, no shame. Only praise will remain, as I fall on my face and worship You. Until the day You bring me to my heavenly home, please give me the words, the boldness, the strength, the companionship and compassion to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ clearly and concisely to those who do not know You. Help me to encourage those who do know You with Your Word, the Bible. Use my life to help others not make the same mistakes I have, and help us to keep our gaze on You, always seeking Your face. I love You and praise You because You first loved us. Amen.

God has Promised: God’s Deliverance

God has Promised: God’s Deliverance
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies (2 Samuel 22:2-4 NKJV).

He sent from above, He took me;
He drew me out of many waters.
He delivered me from my strong enemy,
From those who hated me,
For they were too strong for me.
He also brought me out into a broad place;
He delivered me because He delighted in me.
(Psalm 18:16-19 NKJV)

Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle (Psalm 24:8 NKJV).

This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him [who revere and worship Him with awe] and each of them He delivers. O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him (Psalm 34:6-8 AMP).

In You, O LORD, I put my trust; Let me never be put to shame. Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape; Incline Your ear to me, and save me. Be my strong refuge, To which I may resort continually; You have given the commandment to save me, For You are my rock and fortress (Psalm 71:1-3 NKJV).

I removed his shoulder from the burden;…You called in trouble, and I delivered you (Psalm 81:6, 7 NKJV).

He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me, For there were many against me (Psalm 55:18 NKJV).

He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation (Psalm 91:15-16 NKJV).

Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; He will come and save you (Isaiah 35:3-4 KJV).

Drawing Near: Blessings and Promises

Drawing Near: Blessings and Promises
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

In all things, may you know the Shalom peace of God—encouraging you to move forward, empowering you to boldly take each step, greeting you as you turn a new corner, calming your heartbeat as you walk through dark valleys, softening each footstep as you climb rugged mountains, and increasing your courage as you follow your Shepherd wherever He leads.

The Lord says, "I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name. When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. Psalm 91:14-15 NLT

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen." Jeremiah 29:11-12 NLT

My Monday Prayer: He Responds to Your Prayers

My Monday Prayer: He Responds to Your Prayers
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

 He Responds to Your Prayers
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! Psalm 116:2 NLT

How glorious and wonderful are the things you discover about God’s heart when you are in prayer—kindness, beauty, goodness, mercy, grace, favor, blessings, faithfulness, and lovingkindness. In His great generosity He has given to you freely, bountifully, cheerfully. He has given you the finest, the highest, the deepest, and the fullest measure of His love. All that He has given He will continue to give to you all the days of your life.

My Monday Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Lord, Father God, thank You. Thank You for Your love. I'm in awe of all that is given when You extend Your love to me—the gifts that come wrapped up in it, Your wisdom, concern, and provisions for my care. You know what my needs are even before I speak them. You are working on my behalf before I verbalize how I feel. Thank You that You have taken the time to know me so well...now help me to prioritize our time together so I can know You better. Show me how to share Your love with others, how to tell them the Good News of Jesus Christ. Give me Your boldness and strength, and help me to hear Your promptings clearly. I want to help grow Your kingdom for Your glory. Amen.

Look in the Tomb

Look in the Tomb

-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

When facing obstacles, look in the tomb-

The stone was rolled away there!

When surrounded by darkness, look in the tomb-

The light of a new dawn shines there!

When hope seems unsure, look in the tomb-

The grave clothes are neatly folded there!

When things are perplexing, look in the tomb-

The message of angels can be heard there!

When victory is uncertain, look in the tomb-

The power of the resurrection is seen there!

When you need to be assured Jesus is with you,
look in the tomb-He is not there!

He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay (Matthew 28:6 NKJV).

“I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Amen (Matthew 28.20 NKJV).

Death and Resurrection

Death and Resurrection
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Who sent Jesus to the cross? Was it the Jewish leaders? Was it a mob? Was it the Roman government? None of these were powerful enough, influential enough, or persuasive enough to be able to do it. When Jesus spoke to Pilate, Jesus reminded him that he had no power to crucify Him even though Pilate thought he did as the Roman ruler. When the disciples tried to keep Jesus from being arrested, he reminded them that if He wanted to escape the cross He could call a multitude of angels to come and rescue Him.

The One who sent Jesus to the cross was God the Father. This was the reason why God sent His Son into the world. It was the will of Jesus to embrace the Father’s will. Jesus said that it was for this reason that He came. It pleased the Father to bruise Him, and it brought joy to the Son to please the Father.

When Jesus died upon the cross He didn’t die as a martyr, He died as a sacrifice for sin. He didn’t die for His sins, for He was without sin. He died to make atonement for us. He died so that each person who turns from his or her sin, and believes in Him, could be forgiven. He gave His life freely, and lovingly. God sent His Son because He loves you. Jesus gave shed His blood because He loves you. Jesus didn’t die just for the world—He died for you. Do you know how much you are loved? You are loved with all the love that God could give.

Jesus took the judgement for our sin upon Himself so that we wouldn’t have to be judged. He tasted death so that we wouldn’t know the sting of death. He descended into hell so that we would never need to know its awful grip upon our lives. And after three days He rose from the grave so that we could know resurrection life. His resurrection is our victory song, our shout of joy, our daily praise, and our eternal hope. Because He lives we shall live also. He has promised it, He has guaranteed it. He has secured it. Jesus is our life and heaven is our home. He is the perfect gift that we can know and enjoy forever.

“Now is My soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.” John 12:27

“Therefore doth My Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of My Father.” John 10:17-18

“Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify Thee, and have power to release Thee?

“Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against Me, except it were given thee from above….” John 19:10-11

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” John 11:25

“And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.” Acts 4:33

“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” 1 Corinthians 15:20-22

“I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen.” Revelation 1:18

My Monday Prayer: What a Savior!

My Monday Prayer
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

What a Savior!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

When we look upon the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ in the light of Scripture, there is so much beauty, wonder, and amazement for our hearts to see—

There is the forgiveness of sins provided through His redeeming work;

The free and overflowing abundance of His grace;

The glory and the power of His triumph over sin, death, and Satan;

The majesty and splendor of His ascension to the right hand of the Father;

The exaltation, power, and authority of His name that is above all other names…Jesus Christ the Lord!

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:9-11 NKJV

My Monday Prayer

Marina Bromley

Father God, You are so loving and kind to have provided your son Jesus as a Savior and sacrifice for my sins. To say thank you seems so small a statement in light of all Jesus is to me. Help me to live honorably day to day, growing the Kingdom of God, all for Your glory and honor. In Jesus' name. Amen.
