Sunbeams Through My Window, Part 4

Sunbeams Through My Window, Part 4
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Everything good is found in Jesus. He has no bad ideas, poor suggestions, untimely advise, misleading viewpoints, or confusing opinions.

For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory (2 Corinthians 1:20 NLT).

My Monday Prayer: How Great He Is!

My Monday Prayer: How Great He Is!
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley, Meeting in the Meadow

How Great He Is!
-Roy Lessin

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Psalm 95:3 AMPC

The song of the kingdom is not “How Great We Are,” it is “How Great He Is.” Kingdom greatness is found in God Himself—His is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever! Our greatness is found in having the childlike characteristics of humility, dependency, and trust in the Lord that allow us to discover His greatness.

Little children live in a place of discovery. They are little explorers who find wonder and amazement around every corner. Our greatest adventure of faith in God’s kingdom is discovering His thoughts and His ways.

My Monday Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Father, God...as we are amazed with the beauty of Spring, the approaching of Summer, and all of Your creation being brought back to life, help us to be as amazed at the revelation of Your thoughts and ways as You work in our life.

When I feel hopeless or confused, bring a child-like wonder—the truth that You are who You say You are, and are to be trusted. When I ask for You to be at work in me, or in circumstances and situations happening around me, help me to trust You as a child trusts their loving parent, and to know that You only want what is best for me today.

I love you Lord Jesus, and I need You to be at work in me, through me, and all around me. Thank You for Your love for me, and help me to learn to be humble and dependent upon You. In Your name I pray. Amen.

Reflections from Psalm 25:10, Part 3

Reflections from Psalm 25:10, Part 3
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth (Psalm 25:10 NKJV).

God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (Numbers 23:19 NKJV)

To believe in God is to believe in absolutes.

God’s nature and attributes are absolute. He cannot deny Himself and be someone less (2 Timothy 2:13).

God is Truth (Jeremiah 10:10), Jesus is the Truth (John 14:6), and The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth (John 14:17). God will never speak or live a lie. He is true Truth. Absolutely!

Because God is absolute Truth, He cannot lie!
Only God’s Truth can form righteous values and shape godly character within us.

Truth has no human origin. Truth is greater than anyone’s personal opinion, viewpoint, or value system. Only Truth can identify what is good and what is evil, what is right and what is wrong, what is true and what is false. Because God has always been and always will be, Truth has always been and always will be. Truth does not go out of style, nor can it be invented or reinvented. Truth is always relevant because it is eternal and not in need of change.

He are some important things God has said about Truth:

Know the Truth- John 8:32
Practice Truth- John 3:21
Speak the Truth- John 8:46
Be guided by Truth- John 16:13
Be sanctified by Truth- John 17:17
Obey the Truth- Romans 2:8
Rejoice in Truth- 1 Corinthians 13:6
Do nothing against Truth- 2 Corinthians 13:8
Love the Truth- 2 Thessalonians 2:10
Believe the Truth- 2 Thessalonians 2:12
Welcome Truth- 2 Timothy 3:8
Listen to Truth- 2 Timothy 4:4
Be established in Truth- 2 Peter 1:12
Walk in Truth- 2 John 1:4

Sunbeams Through My Window: Shalom

Sunbeams Through My Window: Shalom
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Shalom is the greatest blessing of peace, because it means the peace of God. It means that you have far more than circumstantial peace, because God’s peace within you is greater than anything that is happening around you. It is a peace beyond reason or understanding, abiding in the deepest level of who you are.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid (John 14:27 NIV).

My Monday Prayer: Surrendering to God’s Rest

My Monday Prayer: Surrendering to God’s Rest
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

Surrendering to God's Rest
-Roy Lessin

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service (Romans 12:1 ASV).

In order for us to fully surrender we must understand who we are surrendering to. We are not surrendering our lives to a mean tyrant, to an uncaring person, or to a capricious creator. We need to see our surrender as a surrender to perfect love.

The meaning of full surrender is simply stated in the following adapted quote by François Fénelon:
It is simply resting in the love of God, as a little baby rests in its mother’s arms...Surrender consists, not in doing great, heroic deeds about which self can brag, but simply in accepting whatever God sends, and not seeking to change it (unless it is His will for it to be changed)...Full surrender is full peace.

My Monday Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Father, help me to remember that time and time again You have called me to rest in You. It is a place I belong, and surrendering to rest is accomplishing something; whether healing my body, my mind, my emotions, my spirit— by laying my burdens at the cross and climbing up in Your arms to hear Your heart beat. Bring Your Peace that passes all understanding, and teach me to be content in that posture.

Help me to discern the lies of the world that shout for me to accomplish and produce when my heart is hearing You call me to 'be still and know that You are God'. That to rest in You is being obedient to You, and allowing You to work in the deepest places within me. That You show me Your Love when I wait in this place of rest.

In the same way, Lord, help me to respect other's seasons of rest, whether an hour, a day, a week...to expect that You can be working in another person's stillness just as You work in my own. Teach me to give up my judgmental attitudes and accept that to rest is to be obedient, and to focus on Your presence in these places is a reason to celebrate. Work in me, through me, and around me, and change me as I learn to rest in You. Amen.

Reflections from Psalm 25:10, Part 2

Reflections from Psalm 25:10, Part 2
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth (Psalm 25:10 NKJV).

Is anything too hard for the Lord? Genesis 18:14 NKJV
For with God nothing will be impossible. Luke 1:37 NKJV
For I am the Lord, I do not change. Malachi 3:6 NKJV

Truth- Is God absolute? Absolutely! Everything about God is absolute. His ways, His work, and His words are absolute. His person, His power, and His promises are absolute.

There is nothing about God that is imperfect, unsure, impossible, incomplete, inconsistent, impure, flawed, damaged, marred, mixed, restricted, inconsistent, untrue, or limited.

God’s kingdom is the only absolute, unshakable foundation upon which you can build your life. Everything else shifts, moves, shakes, disappoints and changes.

Truth establishes and stabilizes your going, and places a foundation beneath your feet. Truth secures your way and enables you to keep your balance. Truth keeps you from falling, and motivates your obedience. Truth presents no empty promises. It never misdirects, misinforms, misleads, or misuses. It cannot be bound, held captive, or rendered powerless. Truth will never get you lost, cause confusion, deceive, turn you around in circles, disappoint or bring you to a dead end.

Truth is your freedom!

Because God is absolutely who He is, He cannot be the opposite of who He is. For example, because God is good it is impossible for Him to be evil. If God had any evil in Him He could not be absolutely good.

We are not absolutely good. We can do good things, but we can also do bad things. Often, people do “good things” in hopes of balancing out the bad things they have done. Jesus said, “There is none good but God.” God the Father is good (Psalm 118:1). God the Son is good (John 10:11). God the Holy Spirit is good (Eph. 5:9)….Absolutely good!

Is God good to you? Absolutely!

Sunbeams Through My Window: Part 3

Sunbeams Through My Window: Part 3
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

In Jesus Christ you have a spiritual freedom that permeates your entire life. It is a freedom that is so vast, deep, fulfilling, and wonderful that its benefits can never be exhausted. It means that you can be the person God made you to be.

People’s standards, opinions and rules don’t bring us spiritual freedom, but God’s truth does. Truth is wondrous and glorious. Truth lights our path and guides our footsteps; it feeds our spirits and nurtures our hearts; it sings love songs over us from God’s heart and celebrates everything that is good.

The Lord your God is in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV

My Monday Prayer: Lord, Speak through Me

My Monday Prayer: Lord, Speak through Me
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. Proverbs 25:11 KJV

Lord, speak through me the soothing words that will heal a hurting heart; the wise words that will guide a seeking heart; the assuring words that will comfort a grieving heart; the accepting words that will embrace a lonely heart; the affirming words that will strengthen a fearful heart; the life-giving words that will fill an empty heart. Amen.

Reflections from Psalm 25:10, Part 1

Reflections from Psalm 25:10, Part 1
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth (Psalm 25:10 NKJV).

All the paths of the Lord- The Lord has a path for you. His call is to follow Him. Only Him. No other leader, no other voice, no other plan. The Lord is your Shepherd. He will lead. He knows the way. His path is always taking you in the right direction. It is a good path. A righteous path. A holy path. A peaceful path. He marks the way possible with covenants of mercy and words of life. Follow closely, placing your feet in His freshest footprints.

Mercy- Mercy is yours. Mercy to heal, mend, restore, and renew. Mercy declares, “Forgiveness is yours, Christ died for you! All things have become new, Christ rose for you! That which had you bound is broken, Christ lives in you! You have hope, a purpose, and a future, Christ walks with you! ‘All things are yours for you are Christ’s and Christ is God’s.’ Sin no longer holds you captive, you have been set free. You can walk unhindered upon the Lord’s path for your life. You are no longer under condemnation, and released from the guilt of the past. The weight and burden of sin has been taken off your shoulders. You can walk in the light and hear the Lord saying, ‘This is the way. Walk in it.’”

His mercies are new each morning to lift you up, move you forward, and strengthen you on your journey. Mercy will enable you to continue on without fear, shame, or condemnation.

Sunbeams Through My Window: Part 2

Sunbeams Through My Window: Part 2
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

You were made to live in harmony with God—in communion with Him, at peace with Him, and in unity with Him.

Out of your relationship with God comes life’s greatest treasures—fellowship, wisdom, peacefulness of soul, eternal hope, gladness of heart, direction and meaning, and a glorious purpose in all you do.

You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 16:11 NKJV

My Monday Prayer: Blessings

My Monday Prayer: Blessings
-Roy Lessin

Blessings
-Roy Lessin

May you be increased with the riches of His grace—hearing His voice more clearly, Knowing His heart more deeply, resting in His love more fully, trusting His care more completely, walking His pathway more peacefully, knowing His presence more intimately, blessed by His goodness more abundantly.

This is our prayer for you today, dear friend. -Marina

You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance. The grasslands of the wilderness become a lush pasture, and the hillsides blossom with joy (Psalm 65:11-12 NLT).

The World and the Kingdom

The World and the Kingdom

-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporary; but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).

“Here today and gone tomorrow” is a fitting saying for life in the world. “Here today and always here tomorrow” is a fitting saying for life in the Kingdom of God. Everything about the world changes and is temporary. God never changes. God is eternal and His Kingdom is forever.

There is no one like God and no Kingdom like His kingdom...

The world is in darkness.

The Kingdom is filled with light.

The foundation of the world is sinking sand.

The foundation of the Kingdom is solid rock.

The ways of the world bring unrighteousness, trouble, and sadness.

The ways of the Kingdom bring righteousness, peace, and joy.

The time on the clock of the world reads, “Passing away.”

The time on the clock of the Kingdom reads, “Always and always.”

The morality of the world is, “Anything goes.”

The morality of the Kingdom is, “Holiness unto the Lord.”

The rule of the world is, “Do it your way.”

The rule of the Kingdom is, “God’s will be done.”

The best way, the wisest way, and the most meaningful way to live is the Kingdom way. You will live without regret if you give yourself to the things that last forever.

As a Kingdom person you are in the world, but not of it; you have died to the world, and the world has died to you; you are not under the dominion of the god of this world, but serve the one, true, living God who reigns and rules.

One day, perhaps sooner than we realize, the kingdoms of this world and their rule, will become the kingdoms of Christ and His rule. In the meantime remember to remain steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. It will never be in vain.

Sunbeams Through My Window; Post 1

Hello Readers! In the coming months we will be featuring excerpts from Roy's book and DayBrightener, Sunbeams Through My Window. We pray that you will be encouraged and inspired to be God's salt, life, and light to the world around you! -Marina

Sunbeams Through My Window; Post 1
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Spiritual freedom means that you don’t have to try and earn your righteousness because Jesus is your righteousness. It means that you don’t have to try and change your life because you have exchanged your life for Christ’s life. It means that you don’t have to work to earn God’s favor and acceptance because in Christ you already have it.

You have been set free so that you can give yourself completely to Jesus Christ and become a bondservant of His love, grace, and goodness. A bondservant means that you are Jesus’ servant voluntarily, willingly, and devotedly.

And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness (Romans 6:18 NKJV).

My Monday Prayer: Prayer of Help, Protection, and Deliverance

My Monday Prayer: Prayer of Help, Protection, and Deliverance
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Lord, I thank You that You are a Warrior, and You never know defeat; You are a Conqueror and every enemy is under Your feet; You are a Deliverer and every foe will sound retreat.

I thank You, O God, that You preserve me. I take refuge in You and I am safe from every cloud of darkness, from every voice of condemnation, from every thought of defeat and despair. I put my trust and confidence in You alone. I lean on You, for You will not falter of faint. You are my support and keep me from falling. You are my high tower and keep me from fleeing. You are my confidence and keep me from fearing.

Thank You, God, for being with me, beside me, behind me, and before me. You are always at my right hand and keep me secure. What joy it brings to know that when I call to You, You answer me. You are my perfect refuge from every storm and battle.

Thank You for being my sure place, and for providing me with the safe place under the shadow of Your wings. Lord, arise and rescue me from all evil, from every lie, and from every bondage. I stand upon You as my rock, I abide in You and my fortress. You are my covering. You are my shield. Thank You for saving me and for rescuing me from my enemies. You always hear my cry for help. Amen.
