God has Promised: God’s Peace

God has Promised: God’s Peace
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

The LORD will give strength to His people; The LORD will bless His people with peace (Psalm 29:11 NKJV).

He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me,
For there were many against me (Psalm 55:18 NKJV).

I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD, and I will heal him (Isaiah 57:19 KJV).

Great peace have those who love Your law, And nothing causes them to stumble (Psalm 119:165 NKJV).

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gently and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV).

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory (Romans 5:1-2 NLT).

For God is not the author of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33 NKJV).

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT).

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful (Colossians 3:15 NKJV).

Drawing Near: Be Still and Know

Drawing Near: Be Still and Know
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

BE- God, I say 'yes' to You. I choose to allow Your way to shape me and Your will to direct me in what is best. I surrender instead of resist, I yield instead of fight, I believe instead of doubt.

STILL- Father, may Your rest abide and Your peace abound within me. Quiet all anxiety that troubles my thoughts and unsettles my emotions. I bring my soul under the control of the Holy Spirit; I stand steady upon the unmovable foundations of Your kingdom; I receive the sufficiency of Your grace and the encouragement of Your promises as you calm my soul.

AND KNOW- Lord, thank You that Your word is sure, unchanging, and indisputable. Your word is true. I am certain. You have saved me from guessing, wondering, wishing, or pretending. I know! I believe!

I AM GOD- You are who You say You are. You do what You say You do. There is no other! You are the highest, the greatest, the best. You have no weakness, no lack, and no equal. You are my God, and my Heavenly Father. I find comfort in Your nearness, security in Your voice, courage in Your strength, hope in Your promises. You are enough. More than enough! You are with me. You are my refuge. I am safe in Your care.

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Psalm 46:10-11 NKJV

My Morning Prayer: Three Child-Like Heart Attitudes of Kingdom Greatness

My Morning Prayer: Three Child-Like Heart Attitudes of Kingdom Greatness
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

Three Child-Like Heart Attitudes of Kingdom Greatness
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 18:4 NLT

Humility: Humility is a disposition that says, “There is no greatness in me.” Little children are not concerned about their status, title, or how much they know. As kingdom people our prayer should be, “Lord, help me to be less so You can be more.”

Dependency: Little children are dependent upon another to provide for them, guide them, protect them, and care for them. As kingdom people we are as dependent upon the Lord as a branch is upon the vine.

Trust: Little children live in simplicity. Life isn’t complicated. They don’t live under a cloud of doubt. As kingdom people we live by faith, and our trust is fully in the Lord.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Lord God, when You called me Your child, You were also stating that You are my Father. Thank You. Thank You for taking me under Your wing, for teaching me Your ways, for providing for me and protecting me.

Teach me how to be Your child again—to have humility, to need to depend on You, and to trust You with every detail of my life and those lives around me. I want to have that child-like faith that is described in Matthew 18. I want to set aside my will to better live out Your will for my life. Help me Lord. In Jesus' name, amen.

God has Promised: God’s Help

God has Promised: God’s Help
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Many are saying of me, there is no help for him in God. But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head (Psalm 3:2-3 AMP).

The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For you, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You (Psalm 9:9-10 NKJV).

May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; May He send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion (Psalm 20:1-2 NKJV).

The LORD is my strength and shield, I trust Him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving (Psalm 28:7 NLT).

Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust Him, and He will help you (Psalm 37:5 NLT).

But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive! For You have rescued me from my troubles and helped me to triumph over my enemies (Psalm 54:4, 7 NLT).

What time I am afraid, I will have confidence in and put my trust and reliance in You. By [the help of] God I will praise His word; on God I lean, rely, and confidently put my trust; I will not fear. What can man, who is flesh, do to me? (Psalm 56:3-4 AMP).

I am poor and needy; Make haste to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, do not delay (Psalm 70:5 NKJV).

The LORD is righteous in everything He does; He is filled with kindness. The LORD is close to all who call on Him, yes, to all who call on Him in truth. He grants the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cries for help and rescues them (Psalm 145:17-19 NLT).

For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee (Isaiah 41:13 KJV).

Drawing Near: Believing Prayer

Drawing Near: Believing Prayer
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Believing prayer is a language that is spoken by the heart. Our strength in prayer is not developed by growing our eloquence, but by growing our faith.

Jesus told us, "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like the pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.' (Matthew 6:7 NIV). The power of prayer is found in its simplicity, not its complexity or frequency.

We should never think that God will not hear or answer our prayer unless we use just the right words, phrase them correctly, and repeat them frequently. Even if the words that we speak don't come out just right, God knows exactly what our heart is wanting to say.

God doesn't need us to pray the "right words" so He can understand what our need is, and He doesn't need us to continue to repeat them so He won't forget our prayer. Jesus assures that God knows all about our need and knows how to meet it even before our prayer begins (Matthew 6:8).

God hears and answers prayer based upon our relationship to Him. God is our heavenly Father and He invites us to draw near to Him as His children.

My Morning Prayer: Live in the Atmosphere of Peace

My Morning Prayer: Live in the Atmosphere of Peace
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley,
Meeting in the Meadow

Live in the Atmosphere of Peace
-Roy Lessin

Joy is like a flame of the Holy Spirit within us. Fretting is like a giant fire extinguisher that quenches the flame.

The peace of God is the atmosphere that He wants you to live in. Guard against letting the news headlines of the day carry you outside the atmosphere of God’s peace.

I will hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace to His people (Psalm 85:8 NKJV).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Father God, You give all good gifts to us, if we just ask You for them. You offer us Your Peace, a peace that passes all understanding. Oh, LORD, how I need this peace in my life today. Please calm the storms of life. Remove any fear, uncertainty, disillusionment and strife, and replace it with Your Peace, Your Love, Your Joy. Give me the courage I need to step away from the things I hand to You, and let You handle them and the details compounding them. I want to feel Your Peace surrounding me, sustaining me, covering me, and protecting me. I trust You, Lord. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

God has Promised: God's Care

God has Promised: God’s Care
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Scriptures of comfort and hope for difficult times:

I will be glad and rejoice in Your unfailing love, for You have seen my troubles, and You care about the anguish of my soil. You have not handed me over to my enemies but have set me in a safe place (Psalm 31:7-8 NLT).

For the strength of the wicked will be shattered, but the LORD takes care of the godly (Psalm 37:17 NLT).

Give your burdens to the LORD, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall (Psalm 55:22 NLT).

Answer my prayers, O LORD, for Your unfailing love is wonderful. Take care of me, for Your mercy is so plentiful (Psalm 69:16 NLT).

[God] led His own people forth like sheep and guided them [with a shepherd’s care] like a flock in the wilderness (Psalm 78:52 AMP).

Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you! See, I have written your name on the palms of My hands (Isaiah 49:15-16 NLT).

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully (1 Peter 5-7 AMP).

The LORD values those who fear Him, those who put their hope in His faithful love (Psalm 147:11 HCSB).

May all things be well with you—may you do well, choose well, think well, love well, serve well, feel well and stay well—as you continue to trust in the only One who does all things well.

I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers (3 John 1:2 AMP).

My Morning Prayer: God Will Never Betray His Own

My Morning Prayer
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

God Will Never Betray His Own
-Roy Lessin

As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him (Psalm 18:30 NKJV).

God will never betray our trust in what He has said, and as we wait upon Him to fulfill His promises, we do not need to fear disappointment. Since what God has for us will exceed our expectations, it means we can never expect too much.

The reality of His promises will far exceed what your faith is trusting Him to do. As you wait for the fulfillment of His promises, you don’t have to wait in gloom or misery. Even if you don’t understand the things that are happening around you, you can celebrate with joy and abundant praise for what He will one day reveal and fully accomplish.

...

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Oh Lord! How magnificent are Your promises to those who love You and put their trust in You! Continue to develop my vision so that I might see and understand Your plans for my future. Teach me how to celebrate You with joy and abundant praise for all the things You will one day bring to pass. Your dreams for me are so much better than whatever I can imagine, so help me to trust in You, because You are dependable. Your love for me is immense, and You are growing me in faith and so many other ways, preparing me to receive all that You desire for me. Help me to trust Your timing and Your plans. I love You and desire to please You, being patient while You grow me. In Jesus' name, amen.

God Has Promised: God’s Grace

God Has Promised: God’s Grace
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow
For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
The LORD will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.
(Psalm 84:11 NKJV)

He giveth grace unto the lowly (Proverbs 3:34 KJV).

And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace (John 1:16 NKJV).

And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you (Romans 16:20 NKJV).

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich (2 Corinthians 8:9 NKJV).

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8 NKJV).

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NKJV).

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:14-15 NKJV).

Drawing Near: In Jesus' Name

Drawing Near: In Jesus' Name
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Your authority in prayer comes, not through the merits of your name, but through the awesome power in the name of Jesus Christ. In His name is the provision for every need you face. When you pray, you come before the Father clothed in Jesus' righteousness and covered by His blood. He is your shield and protector, your banner, and your Mighty Warrior. His light has overcome the darkness; His truth has broken every lie; His power has broken every bondage; His love has conquered every fear. It is in Jesus' name that you can pray with boldness and overcoming faith.

My Morning Prayer: The Word of God

My MorningPrayer
Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

The Word of God
-Roy Lessin

Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts (Jeremiah 15:16 NKJV).

When you need illumination, it’s a lamp to your feet.
When you need guidance, it’s a light to your path.
When you encounter spiritual warfare, it’s the sword of the Spirit.
When you are hungry, it’s your daily bread.
When you need refreshment, it’s the rejoicing of your heart.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Thank You, Father, for providing all we need in Your Word. It was so good of You to give it to us to lead, guide, and instruct us until we meet face to face.

Help me to remember to put more of Your Words into my head and heart than I put anything else. Remove the distractions of the world and all its temptations, and give me the desire to hear Your voice, read Your words, seek Your face. I know that to know You better, I have to spend more time with You. I want to. Help me to make that a priority...spending time with You. Let Your Word be my lamp, my light, my sword, and my daily bread. Let me rejoice as I spend time with You and Your Word. In Jesus' name, amen.

God has Promised: God’s Covering

God has Promised: God’s Covering
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

It is important to know what God has promised, so we can know what our hearts need to believe. Here is a special collection of God's promises to bring you hope and encouragement in time of need. These promises are arranged into topics that focus on specific needs in our lives. We pray that you will be blessed as we share His promises on the next several Fridays, to feed upon them, believe in them, and receive them into your heart.

When I discovered Your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear Your name, O LORD God of Heaven's Armies. (Jeremiah 15:16 NLT)
-Roy

But let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice; let them ever sing and shout for joy, because You make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You and be in high spirits (Psalm 5:11 AMP).

Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings (Psalm 17:8 NKJV).

For He will conceal me in His shelter in the day of adversity; He will hide me under the cover of His tent; He will set me high on a rock (Psalm 27:5 HCSB).

How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings (Psalm 36:7 NKJV).

He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler (Psalm 91:4 NKJV).

I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings (Psalm 61:4 NKJV).

Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice (Psalm 63:7 NKJV).

Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in Thee: yea, in the shadow of Thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast (Psalm 57:1 KJV).

NEW Series: Drawing Near

Drawing Near
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching (Hebrews 10:19-25 NKJV).

.....

When you come to God in prayer, you come to your Father. He wants you to come as a child who is loved, who is accepted, who is cared for, and who is secure. He wants you to come in openness, in confidence, in truthfulness. He waits to hear your heart and to share His heart with you.

Through prayer you can gather the riches of heaven and bring them down to earth...you can delight in the beauty of heaven and carry it in your heart...you can enjoy the fellowship of heaven and walk in it throughout the day.

.....

"Draw near, then, seeking soul, with boldness; Draw near with the lowly boldness of a child—with the humble confidence of a son. Dear are you to your Father. Sweet is your voice to Him. Precious is your person, accepted in His Beloved. You cannot come too boldly—you cannot come too frequently—you cannot come with too large requests. You are coming to a King, that King your Father, that Father viewing you in His beloved Son. Oh, hang not back. Stand not afar off. He now holds out the golden scepter, and says, "Come near; what is your request? Come with your temporal want. Come with your spiritual need. Ask what you will, it shall be granted you. I have an open hand, and a large heart." -Octavius Winslow
