My Morning Prayer: Foundations

My Morning Prayer: Foundations
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

As you read this prayer, pray it over yourself, your children, grandchildren, or other children you know. Our prayers will make a difference in their life, and our own lives! - Marina
...

Promise
Exult in His holy name; rejoice, you who worship the LORD. Search for the LORD and for His strength; continually seek Him. Remember the wonders He has performed, His miracles, and the rulings He has given. Psalm 105:3-5 (NLT)

Prayer
Lord, as my children grow, I ask that they will never outgrow their pursuit of Your will, their desire for Your ways, their hunger for Your word, their dependency on Your strength, and their need for Your grace. May the spiritual foundations that are established in their hearts when they are young, help them as they grow, to build strong lives of faith and obedience; hope and trust; righteousness and freedom; love and compassion.

May they remember everything You do for them, everything You have provided for them, everything You have taught them, and everything You have done to bless them.

Bless them, Lord, with good memories, keen understanding, sweet remembrances, sound minds, and practical understanding.

May we all cherish, with full hearts, all Christ has done for us—for the blood that was shed, for the forgiveness that was extended, for the salvation that was provided, and for the love that was freely given.

Fret-Free Friday: God's Promises

Fret-Free Friday: God's Promises
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

God's Promises
You can trust God's promises absolutely!

  • He will never forget a promise He's made. (God knows all things.)
  • He will never promise more than He is able to do. (With God, nothing is impossible.)
  • He will never promise something He has no intention of doing. (God can't and won't lie.)
  • He will never fail to fulfill a promise because of distractions. (With God there is no shadow of turning.)

Thinking "What will happen to me?" can move you away from God's grace by opening the door for your imagination to fill in the blanks with fear and worry.

You need grace for each issue you face. God is the source of all the grace you need, and He will not skimp or hold back any portion you need for today's journey. Tomorrow's grace will be yours tomorrow, and it also will be more than sufficient.

God is able to make all grace abound toward you. -2 Corinthians 9:8

Part 39: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 39: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
"Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy." Matthew 5:7

Walking in Rest!
God's rest within you will affect the relationships around you.

As you rest in His grace, mercy, forgiveness, kindness and goodness, you will be able to extend it to others. The blessing of rest in relationships is in not demanding things from others or constantly judging their performance. It is a joy to be around those who give you the freedom to be yourself and who won't reject you if you fail. They accept you for who you are instead of trying to change you...forgive you if you have offended...extend love regardless of how you perform...serve you instead of using you for selfish interests...show you mercy instead of judgment for wrongs done.

My Morning Prayer: A Prayer of Guidance

My Morning Prayer: A Prayer of Guidance
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

As you read this prayer, please remember that you (yes, YOU!) are a child of God, and will continue to be no matter how old you are. In addition to praying this over the children in your life, in your family or around you in your neighborhood or church, please pray these things for you, that you may benefit from them. -Marina

Promise
Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. Proverbs 22:6 NLT

Prayer
Father, I need to know Your direction in my life so that I can rightly bring direction to my children’s lives. I need Your training so that I can train them up in the way they should go. I ask that You would give me daily wisdom to speak the right things and to do the right things. Place Your words in my mouth, guide my footsteps in Your pathway.

Give me Your wisdom so that I may give wise guidance; give me Your holy love so that I may choose what is truly best; give me light and understanding so that I may clearly point the way to Your will.

I thank You for your promise to keep my children on the right path. I pray that they would love Your ways and Your will, and carry Your songs of joy in their hearts. May their relationship with You be constant and growing.

I pray they will always walk in what is good, what is true, and what is right. May they celebrate the life You have given them, appreciate their uniqueness, and fully embrace the desires You place within their hearts.

Fret-Free Friday: To Be Still

Fret-Free Friday: To Be Still
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

To Be Still...
    Trust is a must.

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, for in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength (Isaiah 26:3-4).

    Rest works best.

One handful of peace and quiet is better than two handfuls of hard work and of trying to catch the wind (Ecclesiastes 4:6 GW).

    Peace brings release.

He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me (Psalm 55:18).

My Shepherd

There's a roadblock on my pathway,
And I fear that I will stray.
I must walk where You are leading,
Oh, my Shepherd,
clear the way.
There's a pace that's very hectic,
That pursues me through the day.
How I long for quiet waters,
Oh, my Shepherd,
lead the way.
There's a call to bring You glory,
But I'm just a jar of clay.
Lord, you know my every weakness,
Oh, my Shepherd,
be the way.

Part 38: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 38: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3 NIV

Walking in Rest!
The only reason to fear or worry is if the Lord had said:
1. Lay up treasures on earth for there are no treasures in heaven.
2. Be anxious about life for God doesn't know anything about you.
3. The most important thing in life is what you possess, so get more.
4. Your Father doesn't care for you; you are on your own.
5. Seek what the world seeks; that is where true values are.
6. Be anxious about tomorrow; it's good to have things pile up.
7. God cannot look after the practical details of life; save yourself.

My Morning Prayer: The Beauty of Character

My Morning Prayer: The Beauty of Character
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Promise
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us. Psalm 90:17 KJV

Prayer
Like clay, our lives need to be formed, molded and shaped into the image of the One who created us. Godly character is not a gift that we instantly receive, but is something that is formed within us by placing our lives in God hands, receiving His grace, depending upon His Spirit and choosing to do what is pleasing in His sight.

It is important for us to pray that we, and our children, will not only know the Lord and follow the Lord, but that we will also be yielded to the Lord so that His character can be formed within us. No life is more beautiful than the one whose heart is filled with loveliness, whose attitudes are filled with kindness, whose words are spoken with gentleness, and whose behavior is marked by righteousness.

Lord, let our lives, and our children's lives, receive and reflect your attributes and character.

Fret-Free Friday: He Is

Fret-Free Friday: He Is
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

The Lord's presence in your life is not a small thing or a big thing—it is everything. The Lord's presence with you today is your rest!

He is...
the guardian to keep you
the shade to cover you
the shield to protect you
the warrior to defend you.

He is...
before you as your guide
behind you as your guard
beside you as your friend
around you as your shelter
above you as your watchman
underneath you as your foundation.

He is the peace that keeps you, the song that fills you, and the love that holds you through every moment of every day.

...

Should I be anxious if God has all power?
Should I worry if He knows all things?
Should I be afraid if He is always present?
Should I doubt if His promises are true?
Should I disobey if His ways are best?
Should I strive if He gives more grace?

Part 37: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 37: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began. Titus 1:2

Walking in Rest!
Your rest does not come by having faith in your faith, your feelings, or your insights—faith rests in the words of the One who cannot lie. He does not need to tell you everything He is doing, but He will tell you enough to keep you steady and will reveal enough to give you hope. There will always be a promise to claim...there will always be a direction to follow...there will always be a word to obey. You will never be without a rock to stand upon...you will never be without a foundation to build upon...you will never be without a Savior to call upon.

My Morning Prayer: Holiness

My Morning Prayer: Holiness
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Promise
Call them all together—men, women, children, and the foreigners living in your towns—so they may hear this Book of Instruction and learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully obey all the terms of these instructions. Do this so that your children who have not known these instructions will hear them and will learn to fear the Lord your God. Deuteronomy 31:12-13 NLT

Prayer
Lord, to fear You is a good thing. You have said that to fear You with reverential awe is the beginning of wisdom and moves our lives away from evil. I pray that the fear of the Lord will be established deep within us and our children.

I pray that we would daily stand in the light of Your holiness with a broken and contrite heart; that we would bow before You with a meek and quiet spirit; that we would kneel at Your feet in quiet worship as we behold Your glory and Your majesty.

I pray that as we fear You we would always run toward You. I pray that we would always understand that to fear You means that we would never desire to do anything that grieves or saddens Your heart.

May we live to bring a smile to Your face. May we always care about what You think and how You feel.

As You bless us, Lord, I pray that each one in our family will daily be a blessing to You.

Fret-Free Friday: This Is the Day...

Fret-Free Friday: This Is the Day...
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalm 34:8).

God is good to you! Enjoy the blessings that come from trusting Him.

His character is flawless, His worth is priceless, His power is endless, His faithfulness is ceaseless, His grace is boundless, His ways are blameless, His name is changeless, His blessings are countless, His glory is fadeless.

This Is the Day the Lord Has Made

Your theme song for the day is "Rejoice!"

"This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it" (Psalm 118:24).

Today is a fresh start in His mercies. Live free from the cares of tomorrow.

"The reason I can still find hope is that I keep this one thing in mind: the LORD's mercy...His compassion is never limited. It is new every morning. His faithfulness is great"; so don't ever worry about tomorrow." (Lamentations 3:21-23 GW; Matthew 6:34 GW).

Carry hope in His promises all through the day. At night, God's faithfulness will be there to tuck you in.

"Be zealous for the fear of the LORD all the day"; "it is good to give thanks to the LORD, and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High...to declare your lovingkindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night" (Proverbs 23:18; Psalm 92:1-2).

Part 36: Knowing His Best...Walking In Rest!

Part 36: Knowing His Best...Walking In Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God. 2 Corinthians 3:5

Walking in Rest!
How blessed you are to find your sufficiency in God. He is more than you have ever imagined and greater than you have ever hoped He could be. He will hear you when you call, teach you His ways, guide you with His eye, show you His covenant, give you certain victory, give you grace and glory, lift up your head, be with you in trouble, perfect that which concerns you, fulfill the desires of your heart, beautify you with salvation, not withhold any good thing from you, cause all things to work together for good.
