Timely Tidbits of Truth 18

Timely Tidbits of Truth 18
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Come and Dine

I was the guest speaker at a Sunday morning service. Just before speaking I looked out at the people seated in the sanctuary. I saw hungry hearts and immediately felt the pressure to feed them. In my panic I heard God say these words in my spirit, “You are not the meal. I am. All I want you to do is serve, in a loving way, the food I have prepared.” Immediately, the pressure grew wings and flew away.

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world (John 6:51 NKJV).

Moment-by-Moment Jesus

Moment-by-Moment Jesus
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

We have a moment-by-moment Jesus who is involved in our moment-by-moment needs. His eternal peace is an abiding reality in our hearts—
so are His joy, His mercies, and His grace.

Even though we may have to wait for our circumstances to change, we never need to wait for His life within us to be our sufficiency.

He is with you now; He is for you now; He is working now.

Those who trust in the Lord are steady as Mount Zion, unmoved by any circumstance (Psalm 125:1 TLB).

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man (Psalm 118:8 NKJV).

My Morning Prayer: Look Back

My Morning Prayer: Look Back
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

Look Back
-Roy Lessin

Take a moment a look back over your life—
Remember the needs you had that God provided.
Remember the nice things that took you by surprise.
Remember the difficult situations God used for good.
Remember the ways God showed you that He hadn’t forgotten you—
and always remember that He never will!

Remember the LORD your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath (Deuteronomy 8:18 NLT).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

My sweet Heavenly Father...You are gracious and giving, wanting to provide for my every need. Your majesty is on display everywhere I look, Your creative hand at work in every beautiful thing. Help me to remember that You know all things, create all things, do all things, and never forget me and my needs. Oh, how quickly I can forget You and Your power! Help me to remember the many times You have provided for me and those I love, and how You still provide for us today. I love You, and want to bring You glory by testifying of Your goodness. In Jesus' name, amen.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 17

Timely Tidbit of Truth 17
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

In the uncertain times in which we are living, God wants us to live as people of faith. In a world that is shaking, we stand upon His unshakeable Kingdom; amidst fear, we have peace beyond understanding; amidst sorrow, we hav
e joy unspeakable; amidst trouble, we have every comfort and consolation; amidst uncertainty, we have the blessed hope.

The Bible reminds us to:
· Be watchful
· Be peaceful
· Be prayerful
· Be sober
· Be ready

The Bible reminds us not to:
· Be fearful
· Be deceived
· Be troubled
· Be spiritually asleep
·
Be weighed down with cares

Follow Me

Follow Me
-Roy Lessin

When Jesus walks into your life,
He comes with scarred feet;
He comes as a servant—
He greets you with
a basin and a towel;
He calls you to follow Him
by taking your hand in His—
Letting His wounds assure you
that you will never walk the path
He has chosen for you without His presence.

My Morning Prayer: God Is Love

My Morning Prayer: God Is Love
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

God Is Love
-Roy Lessin

Every attribute of God is an attribute of love;
every expression of God is an expression of love;
every word of God is a word of love.

Righteousness is the character of love;
Holiness is the beauty of love;
Omnipotence is the power of love;
Omnipresence is the nearness of love;
Omniscience is the mind of love;
Judgment is the protection of love;
Grace is the favor of love;
Goodness is the practice of love;
Kindness is the attitude of love;
Care is the tenderness of love;
Majesty is the glory of love;
Giving is the expression of love.

Peace is the rest of love;
Joy is the celebration of love.

We love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19 NKJV).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Father, thank You for this reminder of the qualities of Your love, the love that You extend to me. Equip me to love others with these actions...kindness, care, giving, goodness, peace and joy—the fruits of the Spirit! My love is not perfect, but Yours is! Please help me to learn Your way to love others, that they might recognize Your love at work in me, and fall in love with You as I have. You are my everything! In Jesus' name. Amen.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 16
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Have or Am?

You or I can say, “I have the way. I have the truth. I have the life.”
Only Jesus can say, “I Am what you have.”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6 NKJV).

A Godly Leader

A Godly Leader
-Roy Lessin

A godly leader...
finds strength by realizing his weakness,
finds authority by being under authority,
finds direction by laying down his own plans,
finds vision by seeing the needs of others,
finds credibility by being an example,
finds loyalty by expressing compassion,
finds honor by being faithful,
finds greatness by being a servant.

But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20: 25-28 NLT).

My Morning Prayer: The Blessing of Home

My Morning Prayer: The Blessing of Home
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

The Blessing of Home
-Roy Lessin

Your home is a blessing
When truth guards your gate;
When peace is your portion,
And joys fill your plate.

Your home is a blessing
When hope lines your hall;
When light floods each chamber,
And love covers all.

There are precious treasures and oil in the dwelling of the wise (Proverbs 21:20 AMP).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Father, Thank You for this place I call home today. It may not be the largest, fanciest, or most elaborate, but for today You have placed me here and it is perfect for me in this season. Thank You for every provision. Thank You for dwelling here with me. Thank You for knowing where I will be in every tomorrow, and for going before me and preparing each place. Continue to open my eyes to Your purposes for my life in this place, and let me learn whatever You have for me to learn in this season. May I show Your love to those around me, and prompt me as to how I can be Your hands and feet to my family, neighbors, and friends. I want to bring You glory and grow Your kingdom. In Jesus' name, amen.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 15

 Timely Tidbits of Truth 15
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

The cross of Jesus has freed us from every effort of ours that tries to earn His love.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free… (Galatians 5:1).

For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

Redemption Proclamation, Based upon Exodus 12

Redemption Proclamation, Based upon Exodus 12
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Jesus is my Passover. He is my sacrificed Lamb.

His blood has cleansed me, redeemed me, saved me, washed me, justified me, sanctified me, and given me access to the Father’s throne of grace.

I have been delivered from the enemy that held me in bondage and cruel slavery. I was a captive who is now set free and rescued from the wrath to come.

Jesus is my Redeemer and my redemption. His blood has purchased me. I am His. I am in Him and He is in me. He has made His home in me and I have made my home in Him. I partake of His life daily and feed upon His faithfulness. Because of His presence in me, I can do all He has appointed me to do.

In Jesus I am complete, fulfilled, and secure. In Him I have received my God given place in His kingdom.

Jesus is my righteousness, my truth, my motivation, my peace, my hope, my future, my destiny, my identity, and my steadfast loving Lord, Savior, and King.

My Morning Prayer: It’s Better…

My Morning Prayer: It’s Better…
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley, Meeting in the Meadow

It's Better...
Roy Lessin

It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man (Psalm 118:8 AMP).

It’s better to be corrected by truth than to find approval through deceit.

It’s better to be kept from sin than to sin and repent later.

It’s better to be pruned by the Vinedresser than be a wild and unattended branch.

It’s better to be content with a little than to have an abundance and still want more.

It’s better to be thankful in rough seas than to have quiet waters and be ungrateful.

It’s better to walk on foot and arrive at your destination than to ride a fast horse and get lost on the trail.

It’s better to be a “nobody” and be accepted by God than to be a “somebody” and have God turn you away.

It’s better to be absent from the body and be present with the Lord than to be present in body and absent from the Lord.

Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is the man who finds skillful and godly Wisdom, and the man who gets understanding [drawing it forth from God's Word and life's experiences], For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver, and the profit of it better than fine gold (Proverbs 3:13-14 AMP).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Lord, as I face this new week in this changing season, help me to remember that You created me to be happy—in Your Wisdom and understanding as I draw it from Your Word and the life experiences that You have carried me through. Help me to start each day sitting at Your feet, applying Your Word to my life, gaining that Wisdom and profiting from understanding. I can not receive it without taking time with You! May I clearly discern that my unhappiness is from worldly exposure and comparison and that You and Your Word are the remedy. May I prioritize trusting and taking refuge in You as I sit at Your feet. You are my all in all, and I need more of You. Thank You God for Your Holy Spirit who comforts me, and for Your Son, Jesus and all He has done for me. It's in His name that I pray. Amen.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 14

Timely Tidbits of Truth 14
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

You don’t need to fear, not because you are brave, but because Jesus is with you, and your Father is holding your hand.

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father (Romans 8:15).

Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world (Matthew 28:20).

The Pathway

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 AMP).

The Bible tells us that God is our Father and as His children He cares for us all. He is our God collectively and He is also our God individually. God has a specific place and purpose for each member of His family and He wants to guide each life according to His will and plan. This is why it is important for us to look to Him, seek Him, acknowledge Him, be led by Him, and trust in Him to direct our steps.

A few years ago I wrote The Pathway. Its purpose is to help illustrate the importance of trusting God to lead us and to follow the path He has prepared for us. I am including The Pathway in my posting today.

The Pathway
By Roy Lessin

One day a follower of the Lord knelt before his Father in heaven. With a prayer on his lips, peace in his spirit, and faith in his heart, he gazed into his Father’s eyes.

He noticed that the Lord’s eyes were clear and brilliant, and sharply focused. The follower turned in the direction that the Lord’s eyes were focused.
Looking out he saw a pathway. The pathway was only visible for a few hundred yards and faded from view behind a small hill.

The follower also noticed other pathways close by. Each of the other pathways were only visible for a short distance as they turned either to the right or left. It was at this time that the Lord spoke to the follower.

“The pathway that you see My eyes focused upon is the pathway that I have chosen for you to follow. Walk upon it with confidence, trust, and courage.
It is a prepared pathway and will perfectly lead you into the plans I have for your life. If you ever wonder where the pathway is taking you, simply look down and you will notice My footsteps ahead of you and behind you.

As you walk you will notice other pathways close to yours. Some pathways may get your attention, and draw your interest and curiosity. They are the pathways that I have chosen for others.

You may be attracted to these other pathways because of the flowers that border them, the trees that shade them, or the direction in which they are heading.

What you don’t see is the depth of the valleys, and the steepness of the mountains through which these pathways wind.

Those whom I have called to travel these other pathways will have My grace for the journey. It is my perfect plan for them.

I do not want you to waste your time imagining what it might be like traveling down someone else’s pathway.

If you did travel one of them you would not have My grace upon you, and the valleys and hills would be a burden to you and create a weariness within you.

The time and energy I give you will always be enough for each day’s travel, and you will find My resting places along the way.

Give yourself completely to the pathway upon which My eyes are focused. As you do, continue to look upon My face, for My smile will be upon you.

And never forget that everything is significant and is working together for the good that I have planned for you.

I know where the pathway is taking you. I have already traveled it, and believe Me when I say that you could never imagine the incredible things that await you.”

When you follow God’s path for your life you never walk alone.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore (Psalm 16:11 KJV).

My steps have stayed on your path; I have not wavered from following you (Psalm 17:5).

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake (Psalm 23:3 KJV).

Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths (Psalm 25:4 KJV).

All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies (Psalm 25:10 ESV).

Teach me how to live, O LORD. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me (Psalm 27:11 NLT).

You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance (Psalm 65:11 NLT).

Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found (Psalm 119:35 NLT).

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105 KJV).

He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path (Proverbs 2:8-9 KJV).

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV).

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. (Proverbs 3:13-17 KJV).

I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths (Proverbs 4:11 NIV).

The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day (Proverbs 4:18 NLT).

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established (Proverbs 4:26 KJV).

In the path of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death (Proverbs 12:28 ESV).

And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:3 KJV).

I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them (Isaiah 42:16).

Thus says the LORD: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls… (Jeremiah 6:16 ESV).

Many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem (Micah 4:2).

Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong (Hebrews 12:13 NLT).
