My Morning Prayer, Leave It All with the Lord

My Morning Prayer, Leave It All with the Lord
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

Leave It All with the Lord
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day (2 Timothy 1:12 NKJV).

What about…

Your career?
Leave it with Him.
Your security?
Leave it with Him.
Your ministry?
Leave it with Him.
Your future?
Leave it with Him.

Give everything to the Lord, and leave everything with the Lord.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

My sweetest Lord Jesus, thank you for your presence near me in the midst of every season, and every season of life. When the weather is unpredictable, the earth is shaking, the political world is in turmoil, and my heart finds it hard to be at peace, BE MY PEACE. Just as you know the number of hairs on my head and grains of sand on my favorite shoreline—you alone know the number of my days, and what each one holds. This very morning I commit my steps to you...the distance, speed, and direction that they go in. My career, security, ministry and future all belong to you. They are all yours to do with whatever you want to. I give them all to you...I leave it all with you. I am nothing without your love and direction in my life. Be my all in all, over and over again. In Jesus's name, amen.

My Morning Prayer: What About?

My Morning Prayer: What About?
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

What About?
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7 NKJV).

God wants you to cast all your care upon Him, but what about…

Your plans?
Leave them with Him.
Your possessions?
Leave them with Him.
Your relationships?
Leave them with Him.
Your desires?
Leave them with Him.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Oh, Father...I am so fickle in my wants, my needs, my prayers. Just this week you have shown me again, that to pray "Thy will be done..." is the safest way for me to pray. I want one thing, and think I want another, and need none of it...just to trust in you and your plans for me and my life—for those I love and their lives. So remind me in your gentle and loving way, that your way is better. Even if it looks scary because it's not what I expected...help me to trust you. Even if I never thought to pray that for me (or them)...help me to remember that my vision is so short and you see all of our tomorrows. Even if I wouldn't wish this trial on anyone (especially someone I love dearly!)...that you do not leave us alone and you will lead us, guide us, walk beside us and come behind us. You have your armies stationed in the hills about us. And we can trust you alone. In Jesus's name, amen.

My Morning Prayer, Leaving All for His All

My Morning Prayer, Leaving All for His All
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

Leaving All for His All
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ (Philippians 3:8 NKJV).

From the book God Calling by A. J. Russell we find this statement: “Leave all to Me.” Although this statement is not a direct quote from Scripture, it is in agreement with Scripture. Let these words sink deep into our hearts.

God, who is our all in all, wants us to leave our all with Him—all our cares, all our burdens, all our fears, all our worries. He also wants us to leave our hopes, our expectations, our needs, and our very lives with Him.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Father God, there have been so many times in my life that I have placed other things or other people on the throne of my heart. I confess to you that I recognize that I have idolized my things, my position, my marriage and family, and even my hopes and dreams—having placed them in higher importance of my relationship with you. Thank you for these gifts, and help me to keep them in perspective, not in a higher priority.

Likewise, I have put worrying about my problems and concerns over trusting you. And I have held on to my hurts—emotional and physical, and not shared them or surrendered them to you, which keeps you from being able to work in them and robs you of all glory. Teach me Lord, to trust you with every area of my life! To give you glory and praise in the good and hard seasons! To trust that you are working all things together for my good, YOUR plan for my good (NOT MINE) because you love and care for me. In Jesus's name, amen.

My Morning Prayer: The Future

My Morning Prayer: The Future
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

The Future
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to Him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen (Ephesians 3:20–21 NLT).

Jesus is your future.

He has called you to follow Him with a heart of faith and a life of obedience. In good times, in troubled times, or in uncertain times, all your times are in His hands. Your future is filled with God’s promises. It is a future as hopeful as the faithfulness of God; as secure as the character of God; as abounding as the grace of God; as abundant as the love of God.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Dear Jesus, thank you for being in my past, for having a place in my today, and for holding all of my tomorrows. My daily prayers for my immediate needs seem so meaningless because I only know what my needs and wants are for today, yet you hold my future and know what my needs will be in each and every tomorrow. Lord God, please prepare me to walk with you in whatever tomorrow holds. Provide for me in any area of my life that is lacking—physically, emotionally, spiritually, relationally, and financially. Help me to remember your place in my life as Lord and Savior, as Shepherd and King. I want to serve you, honor you, trust you, and abide in you. May your will be done in my life, today and forever. I choose to trust you. In Jesus's name, amen.

My Morning Prayer, Blessed Assurance

My Morning Prayer, Blessed Assurance
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

Blessed Assurance
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13 NLT).

May Jesus assure you that as you follow Him you will never meet a fear He cannot conquer; you will never face an enemy He cannot defeat; you will never enter a battle He cannot win; you will never have a need He cannot meet; you will never face a temptation He cannot overcome; you will never have a burden He cannot lift; you will never face a problem He cannot solve; you will never have a bondage He cannot break; you will never have a moment when He does not care; you will never have a time when He is not there.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Father God, thank you for the assurances that as I follow you your promises of protection and provision will withstand any fear that the enemy of lies will throw at me. I need you to be present in every moment of every day, and I lay claim to the authority of Jesus Christ in and over my life. You are my all in all—so Lord, have your way in me, around me, over me, beside me and within me. In Jesus's name, amen.

My Morning Prayer, You Are Set Apart

My Morning Prayer, You Are Set Apart
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

You Are Set Apart
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

You were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God (1 Corinthians 6:11 NLT).

You have not been set apart to be neglected, to be empty and alone, to be useless and fruitless, to be mistreated and abused. You have been set apart by the Lord, for the Lord. He wants you all to Himself, without rival in your heart. He wants you to enjoy Him wholly, serve Him completely, and know Him fully.

You have been set apart for fellowship and for companionship with Him. You are His sanctified vessel—with a high and holy calling, with an eternal hope and purpose, with a divine commission to make Him known, and with an inheritance that is beyond the reach of decay, reserved in heaven for you.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Thank you, Lord, for wanting to be in relationship with me. Thank you for loving me, providing for me, comforting me, and walking with me through life's hills and valleys. Thank you for sanctifying me, setting me apart to be yours alone. Thank you for giving me a high and holy calling, in every season of life, and for equipping me with an eternal hope and purpose and commissioning me to make you known. Thank you for the promises that there is a heavenly inheritance waiting for me, beyone the reach of earthly decay! I can't wait to be with you, in your presence, falling at your feet in worship and adoration. I love you and praise you for your love for me, and all people. I know that your desire is that none should perish, so please use me to plant and water seeds that people may come to know and love you too. In Jesus's precious name, amen.

My Morning Prayer, Living for Kingdom Purposes

My Morning Prayer, Living for Kingdom Purposes
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley, Meeting in the Meadow

Living for Kingdom Purposes
-Roy Lessin

So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God (Romans 6:13 NLT).

The life of every believer in Christ is set apart from a worldly purpose to a kingdom purpose; from impure living to holy living; from unrighteous actions to righteous actions; from selfish choices to loving choices; from wanting our own way to following His way; from pleasing ourselves to doing what is pleasing in His sight.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Good morning, Lord! Thank you for bringing us encouragement and instructions on how our lives are to be used—to bring glory to you and grow your kingdom! Help us to remember that your goals for our lives may look very different than what we have thought, trained, dreamed and planned for. Please change our hearts to desire to have holy living, righteous actions, and to live unselfishly while we walk this planet. Help us to remember what an honor it is to get to serve you, and to accept "Your will be done..." as a final answer to prayer. May we witness the goodness of your will being done in our lives, and may you be glorified in every decision we make (after prayerfully considering your will and listening to your voice). Equip us to be salt, light, and to bring your life to a hurting world. In Jesus's name, amen.

My Morning Prayer, Receiving and Waiting

My Morning Prayer, Receiving and Waiting
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

Receiving and Waiting
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance (Hebrews 6:12 NLT).

In your walk with God two things will always be true: You will be receiving from Him and you will be waiting upon Him. Your faith must trust Him for both. You need to receive from Him what is yours for today and wait upon Him for what will be yours tomorrow.

What are things that are yours today? His peace, His grace, His mercies, His forgiveness, His cleansing, His strength, His presence, His life, His blessing, His love.

There are also things that require your faith to wait. They include prayers you are waiting to see answered, promises you are waiting to be fulfilled, and God’s timing in relation to your personal guidance.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Thank You, Lord, for your peace and grace—help me to utilize them as I walk through frustrations and situations that try to upset me. Thank You for your mercy, your forgiveness, cleansing and strength—continue to teach me how to extend these things to others, that they may benefit from receiving them and I can build those qualities in my life. Thank you for your life, your blessing, and your love. Let these things shine in me and through me that you in me might be a blessing to those around me—those I know and don't know yet. I want to be salt and light and lead others to you. Help me to be a good representative of your qualities and freely extend these things to everyone.

And thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayers, and for your promises to me (and all believers!) that are true. You are so dependable! Teach me to trust your timing in fulfilling your promises, and help me to use that waiting time wisely—not wasting it away, but building my relationship with you.

I love you and need to feel your love for me today. Help me to be still and know that you ARE God! In Jesus's precious name. Amen.

My Morning Prayer: He Is Your Security

My Morning Prayer: He Is Your Security
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

He Is Your Security
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me… (Psalm 23:5–6 KJV).

shall follow me:
Not “there’s a good possibility.” Not “a 50/50 chance.” He WILL follow! He will never retreat, abandon, or flee. He gives us His absolute certainty. It is a promise from the God who cannot lie. His benefits and blessings are mine to receive—mine to enjoy, mine to celebrate. He is keeping me from being defeated, guarding me from being pulled back into my past and protecting me from being overtaken by things I cannot control. His divine escort accompanies me on my pilgrim journey.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Good morning, Lord God! Thank you for this promise of being my security! Your promises are true, and you are dependable every day of my life. I don't need to worry if you'll change your mind, or let me pulled back into my past. THANK YOU for protecting me from myself! Thank you for the reminder that I don't need to control anything in my life, besides my attitude and my reactions to others. Help me to love like you love, and to love everyone. Thank you for not leaving my side, and for going before me, and coming alongside me, as well as following behind so that I am completely surrounded by you on this journey. I love you, and want share your love with others. Let me see you open doors around me. In Jesus's name, amen.

Scriptures to Encourage Us in Prayer, Part 2

Scriptures to Encourage Us in Prayer, Part 2
Compiled by Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Confidence In Prayer

And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for (1 John 5:14-15 NLT).

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16 NIV).

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7 NIV).

Fervency In Prayer

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Ephesians 6:18 KJV).

…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5:16 KJV).

My Morning Prayer, My Prayer of Protection

My Morning Prayer, My Prayer of Protection
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe (Psalm 4:8 NLT).

“Good night, Father. Thank you for your tender mercies today.”

Note: The following prayer was compiled and personalized by Kent Garborg. May it be a blessing in your daily walk with Jesus. Kent and Roy have shared a special friendship in the Lord for over 60 years.

Prayer of Protection
-Kent Garborg

Dear Lord,
I pray against the rulers who take counsel against me;
“Burst their bonds apart and cast their cords from me.”
God, speak to them in your wrath
and terrify them with your fury.
Announce to these powers, “This is my son!
You shall not have him for he is my possession.
I have birthed him and I am his refuge and his fortress.’”
Lord, may I live in the shelter of the Most High,
And abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
Deliver me from the snare of the hunter
and from the deadly pestilence.
Cover me with your feathers,
Let me find refuge under your wings.
Let me not fear the terror of the night,
or the arrow that flies by day,
or the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
Though a thousand may fall by my wayside,
let it not come near me,
Lord be my refuge and my dwelling place.
Keep all evil from me.
Let no affliction come near my household.
Command your angels to guard me in all my ways.
Let them bear me up on their hands.
Deliver me and protect me because I have your name.
When I call on you, answer me.
Be with me in trouble;
Rescue me and honor me.
Completely satisfy me with long life
and show me your salvation.

My Morning Prayer: Encouragement in Prayer, Pray Seated

My Morning Prayer: Encouragement in Prayer, Pray Seated
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

Pray seated! (Resting in the victory of His finished work)
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 2:6 NIV).

How did this happen? Not because we became worthy or got it all together (Ephesians 2:1-5).

Stay Seated

You are seated with Christ. That means you are in a place of rest…no need to be standing up and nervously fretting and pacing about. Let His peace calm your anxious heart.

Are you waiting on God for an answer to something you’ve prayed about? Stay seated. He is faithful and working out His plan and purpose.

Do you lack understanding? Stay seated. The light will come.

Do you have a need you can’t meet? Stay seated. He will provide.

Are you facing a problem you can’t solve? Stay seated. He is all wise…

Are you unsure of what is ahead? Stay seated. He is working out His plan.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Oh, Heavenly Father, how heavy this weighs on my heart. I KNOW that you are faithful and will work out your plan and purpose. I know your light will come, and that you will provide more than I can ask or think. I know that in your wisdom you are orchestrating your best plan for my future—then why is it so hard for me to sit at your feet and wait for your perfect timing? Change me. Change me. Change me. Change these circumstances for myself and for those I love...and change me. Change my heart to love you more. Change my timeline to wait for you to move. Change my expectations so that I may find peace and contentment in your provisions. Change my mind that I may think more like you, my eyes that I may see all the things going on around me that are not me or mine to hold. Change all of me, and mold me to you. I want to be more like you as I face these things. I know I am not alone—you are with me, you are for me, you love me...and I love you all the more because of it. In Jesus's name, amen.

My Morning Prayer: The Promises of Prayer, Encouragement in Prayer

My Morning Prayer: The Promises of Prayer, Encouragement in Prayer
-Roy Lessin

And all things, whatever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive (Matthew 21:22).

Draw near, then, seeking soul, with boldness; Draw near with the lowly boldness of a child—with the humble confidence of a son. Dear are you to your Father. Sweet is your voice to Him. Precious is your person, accepted in His Beloved. You cannot come too boldly—you cannot come too frequently—you cannot come with too large requests. You are coming to a King, that King your Father, that Father viewing you in His beloved Son. Oh, hang not back. Stand not afar off. He now holds out the golden scepter, and says, "Come near; what is your request? Come with your temporal want. Come with your spiritual need. Ask what you will, it shall be granted you. I have an open hand, and a large heart. - Octavius Winslow

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Lord God, as the enemy tries to discourage me and keep me from coming to you, remind me of the promises of your Word. Help me to hear your voice beckoning me to come near—with my needs and wants, physical and spiritual. Pry my hands open, that I may release every situation to you, for you to do as you will in your perfect timing. In Jesus's name, amen.

My Morning Prayer: The Promises of Prayer, Rest 3, Benediction

Benediction
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

May you set your sail of faith to capture the trade winds of the Spirit’s moving. May He carry you into the strong currents of God’s grace, to the harbors of Jesus’ comfort, to the ports that abound with blessings, and to the warm waters of the Father’s love.

May the Captain of your Salvation pilot you through troubled seas, quieting your heart when rolling waves beat against you. May you daily be kept from drifting away from the course He has set for you. May He guide you to safe havens, fill your vessel with eternal treasures, and bring you triumphantly to heaven’s distant shore.

Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters—a pathway no one knew was there! (Psalm 77:19 NLT)

My Morning Prayer: The Promises of Prayer, Rest 2

My Morning Prayer: The Promises of Prayer, Rest 2
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

As we continue in the series, the Promises of Prayer, we are going to focus on praying through difficult things that combat our times of rest, such as battles, during difficulties at work and in struggling with daily and seasonal burdens. May the questions and scriptures below serve as a reminder of His desire to be with us—by our side, at our call, surrounding us in the hills, constantly keeping watch over those He loves (you and me!).
-Marina

The Promises of Prayer, Rest 2
-Roy Lessin

How can you be in a battle and be at rest?
It’s not your battle! God doesn’t lose the battles He fights.

And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace" (Exodus 14:13-14 NKJV).

You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you" (2 Chronicles 20:17 NKJV).

How can you work and be at rest?
Take Jesus’s yoke!

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light" (Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV).

Prayer is God’s way for you to release your burdens and cast away all your cares.

Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail) (Psalm 55:22 AMP).

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully (1 Peter 5:7 AMP).

There is the story of a poor man who had no wagon or donkey to carry his heavy bundles.  He had to carry the load on his back and walk many miles with his burdens to the village.  A wealthy man with a large wagon rode by.  Seeing the poor man struggle with his burdens, he stopped and offered the man a ride.  The poor man was more than grateful to have his burden eased.

After traveling some time, the wealthy man noticed that his companion was sitting with his bundles still upon his shoulders.  “Why don’t you put your belongings down,” Asked the wealthy man.  “There is plenty of room in my wagon to lay your burdens down.  Are they not heavy?”

“Indeed they are,” sighed the poor man. “But you have been more than gracious to offer me a ride and I do not wish to take advantage of you by weighing down your wagon.”

OftenHe will answer your prayer in the same way you would if you knew what HE KNEW.

Refuse to walk through any door that takes you outside the company of three of your best friends, Peace, Rest, Hope…trusting in the Lord will keep your heart and mind in the right company.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Thank You Lord for being a strong tower who will not falter or fail. Thank You for doing battle on my behalf, for teaching me to be still, waiting on You to move, and laying my burdens down at your feet. I do not need to keep companionship with my worries and anxieties! You are fully aware of all that is happening in my life, my home, family, church, community, my work and this world. I lay each of these areas down at your feet, knowing that my cares are your concerns, and that you will watch over me and the things of the world, and that you care for me affectionately. May your will be done in your perfect time, and may that be enough for me. Teach me to trust you to handle each area of concern, as I know you will deal appropriately with each space of anxiety in my heart and mind. I release all of this to you, God. Work your ways and may your will be done. In Jesus's holy name, amen.

My Morning Prayer: The Promises of Prayer, Rest 1

My Morning Prayer: The Promises of Prayer, Rest 1
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

The Promises of Prayer, Rest 1
-Roy Lessin

Key Truth:
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV).

Prayer is the pathway that leads you to the meadow of rest, to the throne of victory, to the place of authority.

When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get.

When you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again.

Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him! (Matthew 6:5-8 NLT2)

Matthew 6:8 releases the burden of feeling you have to explain it in just the right words to receive an answer.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

My Sweetest Father, thank you for being accessible to my prayers, to me. Thank you that it is a priority of yours to hear from me as often as I take time for you. Help me to hear your voice, to come to you, to rest in your presence, to curl up in your lap and listen to your heart beat.

Help me Lord, to remember that I don't need eloquent words to speak with you...you just want to hear from me—to be with me. I may clumsily and selfishly ask for my wants for today and tomorrow, but you alone know what all of my tomorrows hold—for me and those that I love and care about. Please answer my prayers according to your will for all of those tomorrows, looking beyond my immediate need, and teach me to wait on your answers, trusting that you will provide what is needed most for each of us. I need to rest in the assurances of your truth. I want to grow closer to you, and to grow to be more like you. It's in Jesus's name that I pray...amen.

My Morning Prayer: The Promises of Prayer, 4

My Morning Prayer: The Promises of Prayer, 4
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Promises
When I was a little boy I wasn’t encouraged to pray, I was encouraged to make wishes. One evening, after dinner, someone handed me a bone.
“Here, grab one end of this bone.”
“What is it?”
“It’s a wish bone.”
“What’s that?”
“Well, first you make a wish. Then you pull on your end of the bone while I pull on the other end. If you get the big end when the bone breaks then your wish will come true.”

The idea of wishing for things to happen became reinforced when I found out I could make a wish before I blew out my birthday candles (I also learned that if I told someone what my wish was, it wouldn’t come true.) When I started going to the movies I heard Jiminy Cricket from Pinocchio and Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, both tell me through a song, that I could wish upon a star and my dreams would come true.

The idea of children wishing for their dreams to come true may sound silly, but some carry this idea with them into adulthood and can confuse it with prayer. Prayer is not another way to have “all our dreams come true.” Prayer is about speaking to the living God, Our Heavenly Father, bringing our requests to Him, and believing that He hears and answers us in agreement with His will and for His glory.

Here are three important things that can move us away from fantasy, and bring us into the reality of answered prayer…

Know the promises-God has spoken promises to us. Those promises are recorded in Scripture so we can know what is in His heart toward us. His promises will keep us from praying amiss. His promises are not fleeting words of emotion, they are words of truth. Without the truth of His promises we could be overcome with superstition, timidity, and anxiety. It is because of His promises that we can live a life of freedom, confidence, and contentment.

Pray the promises-In addition to the importance of knowing God’s promises is the importance of praying His promises. Bible translations are like car models, each one is a little different in style, but they all have this in common—you must insert the key (faith) and put your foot on the gas (obedience) in order to get somewhere. A car doesn’t help you if you keep it in the garage and keep the key in your pocket. Prayer is like turning the key and putting the promises into motion (Luke 11:9-13).

Trust the heart of the Promise Giver-We will not have the confidence we need to pray unless we trust in the character of the One who has spoken the promises. Often, people who make promises to us also tell us to trust them. They may be sincere in their request, but even the best intentions are flawed by human weakness, forgetfulness, and limited resources.  There are no flaws in God’s character and no empty words in His promises. We can be thankful, that as we ask for our daily bread, we do not call upon a God with human weaknesses or limitations, but upon the One who loves us with a perfect love and has promised to supply all our needs from His glorious riches which have been given to us in Jesus Christ.

The words and promises of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times over (Psalm 12:6 AMP).

God has spoken in His holiness [in His promises]: I will rejoice, I will divide and portion out [the land] Shechem and the Valley of Succoth [west to east] (Psalm 60:6 AMP).

[Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment]. [They are living memorials] to show that the Lord is upright and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him (Psalm 92:14-15 AMP).

In the day when I called, You answered me; and You strengthened me with strength (might and inflexibility to temptation) in my inner self. All the kings of the land shall give You credit and praise You, O Lord, for they have heard of the promises of Your mouth [which were fulfilled] (Psalm 138:3-4 AMP).

…Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises; (Romans 9:4 NKJV).

Therefore "Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you." "I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty." Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God (2 Corinthians 6:17-18, 7:1 NKJV).

That you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises (Hebrews 6:12 NKJV).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

My Sweetest Lord Jesus, thank you that you are a God who keeps your promises to us, and not prone to human flaws. As I come to you this morning, help my words be genuine needs and not wishes, full of trust and vulnerability. Help me to be needy in my requests and not full of fluff or pride. Continue to teach me the value of communicating with you, sitting with you, holding you near. Above all else, I want your will for my life. In Jesus's name I humbly pray...amen.

My Morning Prayer: Truths about Prayer

My Morning Prayer: Truths about Prayer
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

Truths about Prayer
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us (1 John 5:14 NKJV).

God’s understanding of your need is much greater than your ability to express it.

Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask Him! (Matthew 6:8 NLT).

Cares that come are not to be carried but released into God’s hands.

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7 NKJV).

The power in prayer is not found in the eloquence of the one who prays but in the power of God who answers.

And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen (Matthew 6:13 NKJV).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Thank you, Lord God, for the many ways you provide for me every day. Thank you for including your will in my needs, and for covering me with your wings. Thank you for knowing what I need before I do. Thank you for caring for me and receiving my cares as I turn them over to you. Thank you for protecting me from temptation and delivering me from the evil one. Thank you for reminding me that my home is not here on earth, but in your kingdom, where your power and glory reign. Lord, I want to be with you for eternity! Maranatha! Amen!
