The 2021 Christmas Series: We Have Seen His Glory

The 2021 Christmas Series: We Have Seen His Glory
-Marina Bromley, Meeting in the Meadow

Every few months Roy and I pray and plan about what we want to share with you, our friends and readers, throughout the year. This year Roy thought it would especially timely to share his series, We Have Seen the Glory.

The series was originally written in four sections; Adore Him, Seek Him, Thank Him and Praise Him. To make it easier to read across our social media platforms (our blog, Facebook, and Instagram) we have broken it down into 12 parts, three for each of the four sections. As you read them in order you will find yourself on a journey preparing your heart to completely celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day. That is our earnest prayer.

We have just brought our hearts to Him full of Thanksgiving, and we want to use that as our foundation as we move towards Christmas. Join us as we take time in devotion to God and traveling together into We Have Seen the Glory.

Blessings to you in this season of celebrations!
Marina, for Roy and Meeting in the Meadow

We Have Seen His Glory: Adore Him, Part 1
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

He is thy Lord; and worship thou Him. Psalm 45:11 KJV

On a natural level, the worship of Jesus as a baby didn’t make sense. His life was still untested and unproven. He had not yet said anything, nor had He done anything that would substantiate Him as Messiah. His birthplace gave no indication of His royalty; the economic status of his parents spoke nothing of His influence or power; and His bed of hay spoke nothing of His kingly throne or crown.

The true worship of Jesus was not based on what was seen with natural eyes, but instead, on what was seen with spiritual eyes. With the eyes of faith, the true worshiper saw who Jesus was, why He had come, and where He had come from.

They worshiped because the tiny babe in the manger was the Son of God.

He was the One who was there at the beginning, speaking into existence the heavens, the earth, and all that lives upon it.  He was the One who knew eternal fellowship with His Father in heaven, and He was the One who was adored by the entire heavenly host.

Fret-Free Friday: The Government

Fret-Free Friday: The Government
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

The Government (the rule and reign of your life) is upon Jesus's shoulders. He hasn't placed any of it on yours. He has a plan and purpose for your life. He not only knows where He is taking you, but He also knows how to get you there.

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength (Isaiah 26:3-4).

God won't say or do anything for the purpose of frustrating you, making you anxious, causing you panic, or filling you with fear.

The Government will be upon His shoulders (Isaiah 9:6).

The Dynamic Duo; A Thanksgiving Devotion

Hello Friends! Happy Thanksgiving! We are happy to share this special, timely message from Roy Lessin to encourage us through this Thanksgiving Day.

May you be healthy, and may you feel the presence of the Lord with you today, as we give thanks to Him.

-Marina, for Meeting in the Meadow

The Dynamic Duo; A Thanksgiving Devotion
-Roy Lessin

There are two words found in a scripture passage about prayer that can make a powerful impact upon your life.

The scripture is Philippians 4:6-7

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The two words that make a dynamic duo are thanksgiving and peace.

Thanksgiving is something you speak to God in prayer, and peace is something God gives in answer to your prayer.

Think of it as receiving two answers to your prayer. Peace is the first answer. It is an immediate answer.

The second answer is related to your specific request. This answer will come in agreement with God’s timetable. His perfect wisdom determines the right timing. What better way to wait on the Lord’s answer and timing than with a heart at rest and a mind at peace.

And what do you do as you wait? Thank Him!

Thank Him for His peace that keeps your heart and mind from becoming anxious, impatient, worried, or fearful. Thank Him for His wisdom that is providing the answer that is without flaw and will most glorify Him. Thank Him you can pray. Thank Him that He cares. And thank Him that you can, at all times, fully put your trust in Him.

Part 31: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest

Part 31: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
I cannot think of anyone more unworthy to this cause than I, the least of the least of the saints. But here I am, a grace-made man, privileged to be an echo of His voice and a preacher to all the nations of the riches of the Anointed One, riches that no one ever imagined.  Ephesians 3:8 (VOICE)

Walking in Rest!
Rest in the riches of all you have in Christ. Because you are in Him, you have received grace and gifts (Ephesians 4:7, 8), a hope laid up in heaven (Colossians 1:5), been made a partaker of the inheritance of the saints (Colossians 1:27), been delivered from the power of darkness (Colossians 1:13), been delivered from the wrath to come (1 Thessalonians 1:10), received an everlasting consolation and good hope (2 Thessalonians 2:16), been given the Spirit of power, love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7), His word effectively working in you (1 Thessalonians 2:13), a crown of righteousness laid up for you (2 Timothy 4:8), been given great and precious promises (2 Peter 1:4), been given fellowship with the Father and His Son Jesus Christ (1 John 1:3).

My Monday Prayer: Promise

My Monday Prayer: Promise
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Promise
And they said to Him, Do You hear what these are saying? And Jesus replied to them, Yes; have you never read, Out of the mouths of babes and unweaned infants You have made (provided) perfect praise? Matthew 21:16 AMP

Prayer
Father in heaven, holy is Your name. I ask that we will be true worshipers of God. I ask that we will be worshipers of You in spirit and in truth. I pray that we will see Your glory, be at Your feet, behold Your face, and be overcome by Your beauty. May Your praise daily be upon our lips. May we never lose the awe that comes from fixing our gaze upon You.

May our children worship You with the music of praise, with the words of gratitude, with the actions of love, with the attitudes of righteousness, with the shouts of joy, and with the new songs of the Spirit that are born out of a deep devotion to You.

I ask that their lives will be a daily celebration. May they continually drink from the river of Your mercies, break bread at Your table, and delight themselves in the pleasures of Your companionship.

May they always walk in Your freshest footsteps, in newness of life, in fellowship with Your people, and in the joys of their salvation. And thank You for the joy You give as we continue to experience You in our lives.

Fret-Free Friday: What To Do?

Fret-Free Friday: What To Do?
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Wondering what to do? Don't try to—

  • figure your way through
  • reason your way through
  • feel your way through
  • push your way through
  • manipulate your way through
  • fake your way through

What should you do?
  • Trust your way through! "We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You" (2 Chronicles 20:12 AMP).
  • Pray your way through! "Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance" (Ephesians 6:18 AMP).
  • Believe your way through! "This is the victory that conquers the world, even our faith" (1 John 5:20 AMP).
  • Walk your way through! "When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consumer you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior" (Isaiah 43:2-3 NLT).
  • Praise your way through! "So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat" (Joshua 6:20).

Part 30: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest

Part 30: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time.... Ecclesiastes 3:11

Walking in Rest!
You can rest in knowing that He will make all things beautiful as you wait for His time. He does give the best to those who leave the choice with Him. Never trust a timetable; trust God. His timetable is different from ours. Trusting means waiting on God and for God.

As you wait on God you are asking Him to make you ready; as you wait for God you are waiting until He is ready. In His perfect way He will put together every detail...arrange every circumstance...change every heart and order every footstep to bring to pass what He has for you. He will never make a mistake.

My Monday Prayer: The Proclamation of Praise

My Monday Prayer: The Proclamation of Praise
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Psalm 15:6 NKJV

We were made to celebrate, to be filled with gladness, and to have our hearts overflow with joy. Praise should always be on our lips and thanksgiving in our hearts. We were made to have God be at the center of our joy and the focus of our praise. It is from Him, to Him, and through Him that our voices can rejoice evermore, that our mouths can be filled with laughter, and that our hearts can find, at His right hand, the pleasures that are ours forevermore.

Pray that we and our children will have happy dispositions, will live contented lives, will sing new songs unto the Lord, that our cups will be full and running over, that we will be worshipers of God in spirit and truth and that we will always carry a melody of praise in our hearts.

Fret-Free Friday: God's Peace

Fret-Free Friday: God's Peace
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory with shall be revealed in us (Romans 8:18).

The peace that God gives you is not circumstantial peace. Being in a hammock at the beach on a warm, sunny day is not a picture of God's peace. Remember, the peace in your heart is God's peace. It's there because He's there, not because everything around you is calm and serene.

The peace of God is...
• given by Jesus
• different than the world's idea of peace
• able to quiet your troubled heart
• able to guard your heart and mind
• wonderful and doesn't need to be understood to be experienced

Even when you're too weary to stand, the Lord will always be there to lean on!

Part 29: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 29: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
"There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God." Hebrews 4:9 NIV

Walking in Rest!
At the heart of Biblical rest is the revelation of all that God has done for you. On the seventh day God rested because the work of creation was finished. God didn't stop because the work was tiring but because the work was complete. As God rested from His work in creation, so He wants you to rest in His work of redemption. You enter the "Sabbath" of salvation—a completed and finished work. There is nothing you need to do and nothing you need to add. You need only to receive it, enjoy it and rest.

My Monday Prayer: Strength

My Monday Prayer: Strength
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Promise
I love You, LORD; You are my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. Psalm 18:1-2 (NLT)

Prayer
Almighty God, You are the Mighty Warrior. You are our strength. You who have all power! The omnipotent One. God of majesty. God of truth. God of every victory. Thank You that Your promises can be completely trusted. Your throne is in the heavens and Your rule and reign is over all.

May my children look to You, trust in You and lean upon Your resources every day and every moment. When facing temptation, make them strong to resist and say “no” to everything that would draw them away from You; help them to say “yes” to everything that will draw them closer to Your heart.

When facing lies, protect their minds with the shield of Your powerful truth. When facing deception, keep their feet on Your pathway of righteousness and peace. When facing false accusations, draw close to them with Your all-encompassing, all-embracing love.

Fret-Free Friday: Let the Lord be the One

Fret-Free Friday: Let the Lord be the One
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Care will break the rest of the soul as much as sin does. And there is no hope that we should know the peace that passes all understanding till we have learned the art of shutting the door against the long train of burden—carrying thoughts that are always coming up the hill from the world beneath to fill our spirit with the ring of their feet and the clamor of their cries. -E.B. Meyer

We depend upon the Lord alone to save us. Only he can help us; he protects us like a shield (Psalm 33:20 TLB).

Let the Lord be the One—

  • you call on: "I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies" (Psalm 18:3).
  • you wait on: "Those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength" (Isaiah 40:31).
  • you feed on: "[Jesus said,] 'I am the Bread of Life [that gives life—the Living Bread]...I [Myself] am this Living Bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live forever; and also the Bread that I shall give for the life of the world is My flesh (body)'" (John 6:48, 51 AMP).
  • you depend on: "We depend upon the Lord alone to save us. Only he can help us; he protects us like a shield" (Psalm 33:20 TLB).

Part 28: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 28: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, Psalm 30:11 NLT

Walking in Rest!
The heart at rest has cut the weights that keep the joy of the Lord from welling up inside. It is a heart that not only serves the Lord, but serves Him with gladness...that not only rejoices in good times, but rejoices evermore...that not only is grateful for some things, but in everything gives thanks. The closer the heart moves toward God the deeper it moves in joy—it is the heart that is furthest from Him that is the most miserable. God is the Lord of happiness and at His side are pleasures forevermore.

My Monday Prayer: Eternal Life

My Monday Prayer: Eternal Life
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Promise
And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent. John 17:3 AMP

Prayer
Lord, as I come to You today, I want to thank You that You have revealed Yourself to us so we can not only know about You, but we can also know You personally. What is even greater, is that You have told us that we are known by You. I ask for my children, that they will know You fully in their hearts and lives—there is nothing higher or greater than this!

May they know You in Your holiness, Your beauty, and Your glory. May they know You in Your wonders and in Your ways; in Your power and in Your splendor; in Your might and in Your majesty.

May they look to You as their Father, depend upon You as their Friend, trust in You as their Provider, yield to You as their Lord, and serve You as their King. Above all, may they always be assured that You know all about them. May they rest in the assurance of Your daily care.

Thank You for the privilege we have of knowing You and being known by You.
