My Monday Prayer: Answered Prayer

My Monday Prayer: Answered Prayer
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Although we may not all have children, we are each a child of God. Feel free to pray this over your own life, your children, or the kids around you. -Marina

Promise
I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD.” 1 Samuel 1:27-28 NIV

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your full, generous, giving heart. I thank You that You invite me, encourage me, and welcome me to come to You in prayer, to sit at Your banqueting table and dine with You, to be in Your presence and enjoy You.

I thank You I can bring to You the prayers of my heart—carrying with them my deepest longings and strongest desires. I thank You that You have heard my hearts cry and that You have given me, through my children, more than I could ask or dream.

What a blessing and joy each one is to me. They help me in so many ways to see and understand Your heart more clearly.

Today, I affirm anew, that the gift of my children that You have given to me, I fully give back to You. I place them within Your hands and Your keeping. Continue to give me the wisdom I need to guide their steps in Your pathway and to help them know Your plan and purpose for every step of their lives.

Fret-Free Friday: Refuse Anxiety

Fret-Free Friday: Refuse Anxiety
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life (Proverbs 4:23 AMP).

When an anxious thought comes knocking on the door of your mind, you can refuse it entrance. If you invite it in, it will have dinner with you, and if it has dinner with you, it will quickly move in and want to spend the night.

Part 35: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 35: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT

Walking in Rest!
Rest finds its sufficiency in Christ. Rest doesn't say, "I can do it." It says, "God can do it through me." In rest you never lean on your own understanding or depend upon your own resources.

As you rest you are totally dependent on Him for all things — you exchange your weakness for His strength...your emptiness for His fullness...your failure for His success...your defeat for His victory...your heaviness for His joy...your uncleanness for His righteousness...your restlessness for His peace.

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Abundance

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Abundance
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Young men and young women, old men and children. Let them all praise the name of the Lord. For His name is very great; His glory towers over the earth and heaven! He has made His people strong, honoring His faithful ones. Psalm 148:12-14 NLT

Prayer
Father, may we daily see You, hear You, and love You. May we taste and see that You are good. May we touch You with the hand of faith and know the reality of Your presence.

May our days be full of joy and may our lives be daily blessed.

I ask that we will know, more and more, how great You are, how glorious are Your ways, how awesome are Your works. May we sing Your songs of joy.  May we speak Your words of life. May we sound forth Your praises. May worship fill our spirits. May truth fill our minds. May wisdom fill our understanding. May our tongues bring forth constant gratitude and thankfulness.

Lord, keep us strong in Your strength; keep us blessed with Your blessings; keep us full in Your abundance as we see Your faithfulness revealed to us day by day.

Fret-Free Friday: Has He Ever?

Fret-Free Friday: Has He Ever?
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Has God ever left you?
Will He leave you now?

He Himself has said, "I will never leave you..." (Hebrews 13:5).

Has He ever forsaken you?
Will He forsake you now?

He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5).

Has He ever failed you?
Will He fail you now?

Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you for forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6 AMP).

Has He ever stopped watching over you?
Will He watch over you now?

The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever (Psalm 121:8 NLT).

Has He ever turned His love away from you?
Will He turn His love away from you now?

The Lord appeared from of old to me [Israel], saying, Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you (Jeremiah 31:3 AMP).

Has He ever ceased to be faithful?
Will He be faithful now?

The Lord is faithful and will strengthen you and protect you against the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:3 GW).

Part 34: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 34: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
But I have a greater witness than John—my teachings and my miracles. The Father gave me these works to accomplish, and they prove that he sent me. John 5:36 NLT

Walking in Rest!
Rest is realizing the limits God has placed upon you. He doesn't want you to do everything. He gives you your assignments and enables you to do them. Rest knows its place and is faithful in it. Rest does not wish it had others' gifts or a different ministry. Rest is content with what the Master gives. Rest does not say "yes" to everything or run around in circles trying to fulfill everyone's wishes and whims. Rest quietly finds its place in God without being worn out or stressed out with things that He has not
ordered.

My Monday Prayer: The Comfort of Protection

My Monday Prayer: The Comfort of Protection
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust him. He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Psalm 91:2,4 NLT

It’s important for children (and grown-ups!) to feel safe and secure. Many things can trouble them and cause them to become frightened and insecure—a dark room, a loud noise, unfamiliar surroundings, a strange face, a storm. The need to be sheltered, protected and cared for, remain with us throughout life.

When the disciples were with Jesus on a stormy sea, they became fearful and came to Him for help (He was asleep on the boat at the time). It took Jesus but a moment to quiet the storm and calm their fears. They needed to be reassured they were in the presence of the one who cared about them and could protect them from any storm.

Through prayer, we can ask that ourselves and our children will daily be reassured of God’s presence, His watch care, His hand of covering, and His ever-present help in every time of need.

Fret-Free Friday: Count on God

Fret-Free Friday: Count on God
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Do not fret...it only causes harm (Psalm 37:8 NKJV).

If you don't have peace about what you're doing, stop doing it. Most likely it's not the right or best thing to do, or it's not the right time.

"I have the right to do anything," you say—but not everything is beneficial. "I have the right to do anything"—but not everything is constructive. No one should seek their own good, but the good of others (1 Corinthians 10:23-24).

Count on God in everything you do, in every circumstance you're in, in every need you face, in every decision you make.

Part 33: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 33: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
I pray that hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.  Ephesians 1:18 (NLT)

Walking in Rest!
Rest in the riches of all you are in Christ. Because you are in Him you are beloved of God (Romans 1:7), justified freely by His grace (Romans 3:24), freed from sin and alive unto God (Romans 6:7, 11), under grace and a servant of righteousness (Romans 6:14, 18), married to Christ (Romans 7:4), God's heir (Romans 8:16, 17), free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:1, 2), a joint-heir with Christ and more than a conqueror (Romans 8:17, 37), God's husbandry and His temple (1 Corinthians 3:9,16), accepted in the beloved (Ephesians 1:6), His workmanship (Ephesians 2:10), a fellow citizen with the saints (Ephesians 2:19-20), complete in Him (Colossians 2:10), loved (2 Thessalonians 2:16), kept by His power (1 Peter2:10-11).

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Care

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Care
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Promise
You have taught children and infants to tell of Your strength, silencing Your enemies and all who oppose You. When I look at the night sky and see the work of Your fingers— the moon and the stars You set in place—what are people that You should think about them, mere mortals that You should care for them? Psalm 8:2-4 NLT

Prayer
I thank You God, Lord of the universe, designer and maker of all that is in the heavens and all that is upon the earth, that You are mighty and that You alone do marvelous things. I thank You that You have not only made me and my children, shaped us, and breathed into us the breath of life, but that You look out for each one of us. Reveal to us Your mighty strength, Your awesome power, and Your infinite wisdom.

It is amazing to me to realize, not only how great You are, but how much You care about the lives of those You have created. You see, know, understand, and care about every detail of their lives. It is in You that they live, and move, and have their being.

Thank you that we are on Your mind and in Your thoughts today. I pray that our hearts would trust in You, that our thoughts would turn toward You, and that our feet would follow You all the days of our lives.

Fret-Free Friday: Either

Fret-Free Friday: Either
Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Even if everyone else is a liar, God is true. As the Scriptures say about him, "You will be proved right in what You say" (Romans 3:4 NLT).

Either God is all-powerful or He is not. If He is not, we are sunk. If He is, we have nothing to fear.

Either God is all-knowing or He is not. If He is not, we'd better figure out what is best for us. If He is, we can be confident He will not make mistakes with our lives.

Either God is all-present or He is not. If He is not, we need to find a way to protect and take care of ourselves. If He is, we can be assured His eye is watching us, His hand is upon us, and His covering is over us.

Either God is the Father of mercies or He is not. If He is not, we should work hard to find a way to appease His wrath. If He is, we can, by faith, receive the forgiveness He's provided for us through the shed blood of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Upon His Shoulders, Close to His Heart

Jesus, your High Priest, carries you on the strength of His shoulders to bear you up in all your trials. He keeps you close to His heart with the deepest attention and affection. He represents you before the Father with compassionate and sympathetic understanding.

Jesus, your High Priest, strengthens you and helps you; upholds you and undergirds you; carries you and cares for you; represents you and remembers you. He is praying that you will be fruitful in everything by remaining within the will of God.

Part 32: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 32: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways. By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies. Psalm 17:7 NLT

Walking in Rest!
Rest sees things through God's eyes and weighs things with His mind. The Lord wants you to stand in Him and look around in confidence. He wants you to take His point of view, for things are not always as they appear. In the Lord you are not beneath things to be pressed down and weighed in by them; you are above things, seated with Him, free from the defeat of all assaults, threats and accusations. You are safe in the Lord as your tower...strong in the Lord as your refuge...protected in the Lord as your shield. Flee to Him; His arms are open... hide in Him; His wings will cover you...trust in Him; His mighty arm will fight for you.

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Victory

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Victory
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Promise
Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.
1 Peter 5:7-9 NLT

Prayer
Lord, I know according to Your Word, we have an enemy who wants to rob, kill and destroy our faith and trust in You. I thank You that what You want to do in our lives is more powerful than what the enemy seeks to do. Thank You that You are greater than anything or anyone who would come against us.

Father, may Your truth always keep me and my children from Satan’s lies; may Your light always keep us from his darkness; may Your wisdom always keep us from his confusion; may Your peace always keep us from his restlessness; may Your pathway always keep us from his dead-end road.

Give each one of Your children the grace to cast all our worries and cares upon You, and to not be weighed down with concerns that You never intended for us to carry. Help us, by Your grace, to stand firm against every scheme of the devil, to be strong and daily growing in our faith and confidence in You, and help us to pray for others with a sincere heart of understanding and love.
