My Monday Prayer: Daily Bread

My Monday Prayer: Daily Bread
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Promise
Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts. Jeremiah 15:16 NKJV

Prayer
Gracious Father, thank you that we can know Your heart and hear Your heart through the words You have spoken.

Thank You that Your words are like no other—their taste is sweet, their sound is a symphony, their power is a transforming light. They are a lamp to our feet and a light to our pathway.

I ask that my children and I will always hunger after Your words. Increase our appetite.

May we find Your words to be delightful, whole and pure, abundant in grace, rich in mercy. Feed us, Father, with fresh bread, living bread, daily bread. Nurture us in our spirits, teach us that we cannot live on bread alone, and that we need You to sustain us with every word that comes from Your mouth.

Break to us the bread of life.

I thank You, Father, that Your words can be found, can be eaten, and can be known. May we find Your words to be the joy and rejoicing of our hearts. May we daily realize the awesome privilege we have to be called by Your name, to receive Your words, and to be a part of Your forever family.

Fret-Free Friday: Nothing Has Stopped in Heaven

Fret-Free Friday: Nothing Has Stopped in Heaven
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Grace still abounds.
Mercies are still new this morning.
Blessings are still being poured out.
Prayers are still being heard and answered.
Promises are still being kept.
The love of God is still being shed abroad in our hearts.
Angels are still ministering.
Jesus is still interceding.
The Holy Spirit is still working.
God is still on the throne.
The return of the Lord is still on schedule!

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; and let them say among the nations, "The LORD reigns" (1 Chronicles 16:31).

The Painter
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns (Philippians 1: 6 NLT).

Life's like a landscape and God has the brush,
His work is in progress, He's not in a rush.
Each stroke has a purpose, and nothing's by chance,
to learn of His wisdom takes more than a glance.
The bird in the nest with its mouth opened wide,
is just a reminder that God will provide.
Now look at the sheep in the meadow so green,
The waters nearby are both calm and serene.
The parts of the picture which now seem unclear,
will take on new meaning with each passing year;
Yes, God is still working in His perfect way,
as He paints the landscape of your life each day.

With Him Through Every Season

With Him Through Every Season
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

God has said, “I will never leave you!" (Deuteronomy 31:6).

In the sunlight of a warm spring day I skip along with God, His hand holding mine, as I dance in the freedom of His presence and the blessings He has given.

In the thunder of a stormy summer night, walking on an unknown trail, I draw close to God and cling to Him as I find shelter under His wings, being assured He will bring me through.

In the crisp, changing days of fall, when nothing seems certain or secure, I plant my feet upon the Rock that is unshakable, confident He is faithful and unchangeable.

In the isolation of a winter wilderness, weary and alone, I lean upon God, drawing from His strength as He lifts me up, brings me out, and restores my needy soul.

Dear one of the Beloved, where are you as you walk with Him today? Are you skipping in the joys of His presence? Are you resting in His care and covering? Are you being reassured in His love that will not fail? Are you being renewed by His nearness? Do not fear—in the sunlight, in the darkness, in the changes, in the desert place, He is with you...and you are with Him!

My Monday Prayer: Growth

My Monday Prayer: Growth
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Promise
And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace (favor and spiritual blessing) of God was upon Him. Luke 2:40 AMP

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for coming to this earth, taking on human flesh, living among us, and doing Your Father’s will. Thank You for the way You lived and what You taught us through Your words and Your life.

I pray that we will grow in the ways that You grew. May we have a sharp focus and clear purpose; may we know why we are here and where we are going; may we have the inner strength to grow strong in character; may we always be about our Heavenly Father’s business.

I pray that my children will grow, not just in years, but in depth of love and maturity. Give them wholeness in body, soul, and spirit. Bless them with good health, and may their desires be set on doing all that is pleasing to You. May they be filled with wisdom and may Your grace, favor and spiritual blessings be upon them.

Above all, I ask that they will be strong in spirit—being at Your feet, knowing Your worthiness, intimate in their relationship with You, supping at Your table, and communing with You daily.

Fret-Free Friday: Come to the Waters

Fret-Free Friday: Come to the Waters
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Let us move with trusting hearts into the lush green meadow of God's will. Let us graze upon the promises that keep our souls from want. Let us listen to the voice of the Shepherd who never speaks an uncaring word. Let us drink of the waters that quench our deepest thirst. Let us simply and peacefully walk upon the pathway of good things. Let us be refreshed within the resting places that He prepares for us along the way.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake
(Psalm 23:1-3).

Lord,
I don't know what will happen,
and I don't know what will be...
But teach me to live each moment,
with a heart that's worry free!

Hearing His Voice

Hearing His Voice
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

“Is the voice of Jesus the loudest sound within you?” -Don Lessin

In Mark 9:7 God speaks these words, “This is My beloved Son: hear Him.” Today, many voices want to be heard. They speak through social media, film, publications, podiums, public squares, the halls of government, and the chambers of justice. Daily we hear the cries of culture demanding change and conformity to its will.

There is another voice-a greater voice, a true voice, a righteous voice, a wise voice. It is the voice of light, the voice of love, the voice of hope, and the voice of salvation. Jesus, the Word, is that voice.

His voice healed the sick, raised the dead, stilled the storm, cast out demons, and forgave the sinner. He alone could say, “I am the way. I am the Truth. I am the life. Come to Me and I will give you rest.” No one else can speak as Jesus spoke.

Jesus’ voice is above all other voices, and His name above all other names. In a time of so much commotion, may His voice of “peace, be still,” quiet every troubled heart.

My Monday Prayer: Fulfilled Promises

My Monday Prayer: Fulfilled Promises
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Promise
For the promise [of the Holy Spirit] is to and for you and your children, and to and for all that are far away, [even] to and for as many as the Lord our God invites and bids to come to Himself. Acts 2:39 AMP

Prayer
Thank You, God, that You are a promise maker and a promise keeper.

I thank You that You give us promises to trust in, and that You fulfill them in Your time. Thank You that Your timing is always perfect; that You are never too late; that You never make a promise that is empty; that You never forget a promise that You have made, and You never make a mistake.

I thank You, God, Your promises are not just for generations past, but are for my generation and for the generations to come. Thank You that what You promised the early church, You have also promised us.

May our hearts always have the assurance that You are not only the promise keeper of the past, but also the promise keeper of today and the promise keeper of the future.

Thank You that Your promises to our children are the divine assurances of Your will. I ask that You will fulfill in them the promise of the fullness of Your Holy Spirit, the promise of Your call upon their lives, and the promise of Your presence with them always.

Your God Appointed Place

Your God Appointed Place
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Jesus said to Peter, “...what is that to you? You follow Me” (John 21:22).

It’s easy to get caught up in many activities and become involved in many projects. As a result, our arms can become too full, our schedules too busy, and our minds too cluttered. To abide in God’s peace, it’s important to remember that not everything is intended for us.

One morning I heard the Lord speak these words to my spirit, “Don’t get caught up in the things that don’t concern you.” It was a reminder that not everything is my business.

As followers of Jesus Christ what is our business? What should be our main concerns? Here are two of the most important.

Our first main concern is our relationship with Jesus. In all things He is to have the preeminence. Our eyes are to be fixed on Him, our hearts are to be set on Him, and our wills are to be yielded to Him.

Our second main concern is our obedience to Jesus. Our feet are always to be pointing in the direction He is leading us. As we follow Him, He will bring us into our God appointed place and give us all we need to do His will.

When Peter became concerned about Jesus’ plan for another disciple the Lord exhorted Peter with these words, “What is that to you? You follow me.”

Our God appointed place is His prepared place for us. Here we will have His peace, His favor, and His all-sufficient grace; here we will have our place of influence, responsibility, ministry, and stewardship; here we will touch the hearts of others that He has brought into our lives; here we co-labor with the Lord. His concerns will be our concerns. Our yoke will be Jesus’ yoke, and pleasing Him will be our greatest pleasure.

May you enjoy God’s richest blessings upon your life as you serve Him today in your God appointed place, wherever that may be.

My Monday Prayer: Prosperity

My Monday Prayer: Prosperity
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Let's pray these things regarding "prosperity" for our children, and our for ourselves to remember. He can be trusted! -Marina

Promise
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Prayer
Lord, I thank You that You know all things and that You can be fully trusted because You are completely faithful.

Thank You for the wisdom of Your ways and the goodness of Your plans—I know that You have only good things in Your heart for my children. Thank you that they never have to guess or find their own way in life, because You will lead them and guide them in the way they should go.

I thank You that the lives of my children’s future is bright because Your light shines upon it; that their future is right because Your will has planned it; that their future is victorious because Your might has secured it.

I ask You, Lord, to prosper each child—to make them rich in Your riches, to make them strong in Your strength, to make them blessed with Your blessings.

I ask that Your perfect plan for each one will be accomplished as they yield their hearts to You, as they put their trust in You, and as they follow You. Thank You, that You are their certain hope and glorious future.

Fret-Free Friday: Stay Seated

Fret-Free Friday: Stay Seated
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

You are seated with Christ. That means you are in a place of rest. To be seated with Him means you are in the place of HIS rest and the place of HIS victory. His call to you is not "Work hard to get to where I am," but rather, "Live today where I have placed you—with Me at My Father's right hand."

Are you waiting on God for an answer to something you've prayed about?
Stay seated and rest in His answer.

Do you have a need you can't meet?
Stay seated and rest in His provision.

Are you facing a problem you can't solve?
Stay seated and rest in His wisdom.

Are you wondering how you're going to make it through?
Stay seated and rest in His strength.

...

God has brought us back to life together with Christ Jesus and has given us a position in heaven with him (Ephesians 2:6 GW).

My Monday Prayer: Light of the Lord

My Monday Prayer: Light of the Lord
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Take time to pray this for ourselves, and for the children in our lives.
-Marina

Promise
How precious is Your steadfast love, O God! The children of men take refuge and put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They relish and feast on the abundance of Your house; and You cause them to drink of the stream of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light. Psalm 36:7-9 AMP

Prayer
I thank You, Lord, that You are Light and in You there is no darkness, no shadows, no confusion, no lies, no deceit. Thank You that You are the Light of the World and the Light of Life. Thank You that Your light never flickers, grows dim, burns out, or goes out.

I pray that my children will see the splendor of Your light—that its beam will shine upon their pathway; that its flame will warm their hearts; that its beauty will lift their spirits, that its glow will shine upon their faces.

Send Your light, Lord, to inspire my children, to build their faith, to renew their hope, to strengthen their courage, to lighten their steps, and to encourage them on their spiritual journey.

Give them clear direction, make straight paths for their feet, give them enough light to take the next step, and lead them in the way everlasting.
