My Monday Prayer: Prayer from Psalm 46:10

My Monday Prayer: Prayer from Psalm 46:10
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Be—God, I say “yes” to You. I choose to allow Your way to shape me and Your will to direct me in what is best. I surrender instead of resist, I yield instead of fight, I believe instead of doubt.

Still—Father, may Your rest abide and Your peace abound within me. Quiet all anxiety that troubles my thoughts and unsettles my emotions. I bring my soul under the control of the Holy Spirit; I stand steady upon the unmovable foundations of Your kingdom; I receive the sufficiency of Your grace and the encouragement of Your promises as you calm my soul.

And know— Lord, thank you that Your word is sure, unchanging, and indisputable. Your word is true. I am certain. You have saved me from guessing, wondering, wishing, or pretending. I know! I believe!

I am God— You are who You say You are. You do what You say You do. There is no other! You are the highest, the greatest, the best. You have no weakness, no lack, and no equal. You are my God, and my Heavenly Father. I find comfort in Your nearness, security in Your voice, courage in Your strength, hope in Your promises. You are enough. More than enough! You are with me. You are my refuge. I am safe in Your care.

Be still, and know that I am God! Psalm 46:10

Fret-Free Friday: Shalom

Fret-Free Friday: Shalom
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovah-shalom (Judges 6:24).

The Jewish word "shalom" is much more than a casual social greeting. It is also a prayer, a blessing, a deep desire, and a benediction. Shalom is packed with the full blessing of God. In Hebrew, the word has many significant meanings that are used throughout the Scriptures. The following blessing is a compilation of those meanings.

May you be whole in body, soul, and spirit as a result of being in harmony with God's will and purpose for your life. May His peace be your covering, may your heart know His fullness, and by His mighty power may you know victory over every enemy.

May God bring to pass the deepest desires of your heart.
May you know the healing power of His presence and the restoration of every broken relationship.
Through His sufficiency, may every need that you face be met by His limitless resources.
May His covenant promises be fulfilled in your life and in your family.
May He bring you the greatest measure of contentment and the deepest satisfaction that your heart can possibly know.

...

The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
the LORD life up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
(Numbers 6:24-26).

Part 18: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 18: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6, 7 NIV

Walking in Rest!
Rest comes through release. Release is "placing" something into God's hands; rest is "leaving" it in God's hands. When something is released to God it is placed under His authority and given to His control. Release frees you from manipulation and from the burden to have the final say. Rest does not ignore personal responsibility but it does release the weight of it. Rest casts all cares on Him and leaves all burdens at His feet. Rest says, "God will sustain me"..."The battle belongs to the Lord"..."The Lord cares for me." Rest asks for God's way and waits for God's time.

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Taking Your God-Given Place

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Taking Your God-Given Place
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

My foot stands on an even (well balanced, solid ground) place. Psalm 26:12 Expanded

Lord, you are my hiding place, my dwelling place, my safe place, my secret place, my holy place, and my balanced place. Continue to teach me and instruct me to know Your perfect place for me in every choice I make, in every action I take, and in every word I speak.

Raise up a barrier to hinder me if I am pursuing a place you have not chosen for me;

Bring Your wisdom to me if I am not understanding something about Your ways that needs clarity;

Dry up any pool I am drinking from that is not being fed by Your river; slow me down if I am going after something that is premature in Your plan for me;

Turn me from any confidence I am placing in anyone or anything that is taking my eyes off of You.

Lord, keep my heart from coveting the place you have given others, and guard my heart from envying the ways You are using others. Help me to set my expectations upon You, and not upon the way I think things should be or want them to be.

Lord, settle me and help me take my place—not to run from it, or hide from it; not to fear it, or dread it; not to strive in it, or be anxious about it. Help me daily to know the contentment and the joy of serving You in Your appointed place.

Fret-Free Friday: Surrender!

Fret-Free Friday: Surrender!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is there anything to hard for Me? (Jeremiah 32:27 AMP).

Surrender to God's will today to take the dread out of tomorrow. The psalmist wrote, "I have not seen the righteous forsaken" (Psalm 37:25). Find your rest in God today, and let Him assume the responsibility for all your tomorrows.

It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not, neither become broken [in spirit—depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm] (Deuteronomy 31:8 AMP, brackets in original).

It is true!
The One who is before you and with you will not fail you.
The One who is before you and with you will not fail you.
The One who is before you and with you will not fail you.
The One who is before you and with you will not fail you.

Part 17: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. -Matthew 11:28 NLT

Walking in Rest!
The reality of rest is found in the person of Jesus Christ. He is at the center of every Christian experience and everything that you have flows out of your relationship with Him. At the heart of your life in Him is not a standard to live up to, a code to work out or a list of regulations to follow.  Your life in Him is a walk with a friend who sticks closer than a brother...a fellowship of two spirits that are joined as one...a union of hearts that are bonded together in love.

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Gratefulness for the Blessing of God’s Favor

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Gratefulness for the Blessing of God’s Favor
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

I entreated Your favor with my whole heart. Psalm 119:58 NKJV

Father, thank You for the blessing of Your favor upon my life! Thank You that Your blessings come to me abundantly, unexpectedly, delightfully— like showers from heaven, like the dew upon dry ground, like rivers flowing through a thirsty land. Your blessings are mine through Your promises, by Your Spirit, and in Your Son, through whom I have become an heir of all that heaven has to give.

Thank You for all Your favors— the joys of Your holiness, the touch of Your gentleness, the sweetness of Your nearness, the care of Your kindness, the grace of Your loveliness. Thank You for opening doors that no one could shut, for saying “no” to pathways that would have led me away from Your will, for Your amazing timing, and for the people You brought into my life to pray, to help, and to encourage me in my walk with You.

Thank You for surrounding me with Your favor as a protection; with Your glory as an adornment; with Your wisdom as words of life; with Your generosity as a gift of goodness; with Your blessings as a downpour of joy.

Thank You for the ways You draw my heart to You, and for the ways You delight my soul. Your gracious generosity will keep me forever grateful!

Fret-Free Friday: Not Forgotten

Fret-Free Friday: Not Forgotten
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Has God ever forgotten you? Will He forget you now? Never!

Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I [the LORD] would not forget you! (Isaiah 49:15 NLT).

You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways (Psalm 139:3).

May You Receive from the Lord...

If you're worried, may you receive the Lord's peace;
Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled] (John 14:27 AMP), brackets in original).

If you're wondering, may you receive the Lord's clarity:
Let my cry come before You, O LORD; give me understanding according to Your word (Psalm 119:169).

If you're wandering, may you receive the Lord's direction:
[The LORD says,] "I will bring the blind by a way that they know not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known. I will make darkness into light before them and make uneven places into a plain. These things i have determined to do [for them]; and I will not leave them forsaken" (Isaiah 42:16 AMP, brackets in original).

Part 16: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 16: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 ESV

Walking in Rest!
One of the greatest things that God delivers you from is the struggle to save yourself. Salvation is a work of rest. It is a completed work; nothing needs to be added to it...it is a total work; nothing needs to be done to improve it...it is a final work; nothing needs to happen to change it. The rest of salvation frees you from the bondage of trying hard enough or being good enough to gain God's favor. Resting in His finished work means receiving His salvation as a free gift, given to you by His grace...having a righteousness that is not your own, given to you by Christ...enjoying a new life that changes you, brought to you by the presence of His Spirit.

Fret-Free Friday: Peace

Fret-Free Friday: Peace
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

The peace the world gives comes from the things the world has to offer. Since everything the world has to offer is temporary, the peace the world gives quickly passes away. The peace that Jesus gives comes from who He is. And everything Jesus is lasts forever!

The helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything. He will remind you of everything that I have ever told you. I'm leaving you peace. I'm giving you my peace. I don't give you the kind of peace that the world gives. So don't be troubled or cowardly (John 14:26-27 GW).

Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of JESUS.

Part 15: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
- Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
When I discovered your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies. -Jeremiah 15:16 NLT

Walking in Rest!
The sustenance for rest is the Word of God. His word is more than history and information; it is food. It is not only to be pondered and studied but also to be eaten and digested. His words are the only ones that can feed the spirit and nurture the soul. They bring the manna of truth to the mind and renew it in righteousness. Through it the lies that bring unrest are defeated. The Word assures you that life is not lived by chance or luck, but by the will and purposes of God who sits on the throne of an unshakable and unchanging kingdom. He will hold you steady; He will keep you true.

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Victory

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Victory
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Jesus, l believe You are my victor. I turn my attention away from every distraction and every foe you have defeated. I proclaim Your victory over my life. You are the victor over sin, over the world, over death, and over all the power of the enemy. I have no flag to fly but Your banner, no anthem to sing but Your hosanna, no sword to use but Your word.

You reign supreme! Your kingdom has brought me deliverance from this evil age.

Your overcoming promises keep me from being overwhelmed.

Your rod and staff assure me You are in control.

You are my life, I live through You.

You are my strength, I lean on You.

You are my peace, I rest in You.

You are my King, I yield to You.

You are my Counselor, I listen to You.

You are my Shepherd, I follow You.

I thank You for the exceeding greatness of Your life, Your love, and Your power toward me today.

This is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but the one who believes that Jesus is the the Son of God. 1 John 5:4-5
