Bless You
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow
The Lord bless you and
keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The
Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26 NKJV).
The
Lord-
The only God. The one, true,
eternal God!
Yahweh. The Giver of all that is
good.
The Blesser of every blessing.
The Giver of every good and perfect gift. The Giver of the greatest gift, who
is the blessing of all blessings—His Son, Jesus Christ the Lord.
bless
you-
Not someone else, but you. Not
sometime later, but now. Not somewhere else, but right where you are.
Blessed with the blessings found
in God alone. Blessings from His presence—for you, with you, in you, upon you,
and through you.
and
keep you;
Kept by your Keeper. Not
neglected. Not misplaced. Not forsaken. Kept by the Omnipotent God of your
salvation. Kept in the almighty hold of His strong hand. Kept by the One who is
in charge and in control. Kept by the One who will keep you from falling. Kept
by the love of your good and caring Father.
The
Lord make His face shine upon you-
His face is Jesus’ face. No
darkness there.
No gloom. No shadows. The face
of glory. The beautiful face of holiness. Pure and good. Full of splendor.
Brightness shining down upon you. Touching you. Warming you. Beam upon beam of
life-giving splendor. His face of glory, shining upon your face with radiant
light.
And
be gracious to you;
Good, acceptable, beneficial
grace. Grace upon grace. Favor upon favor. So much, so freely, coming your way
time after time. Grace for strengthening. Grace for abounding. Grace for going,
doing, and being. Grace for the journey, grace for enduring, grace for standing
strong until His kingdom comes.
The
Lord lift up His countenance upon you-
His endearing countenance. Full
of compassion and lovingkindness. Intimate, supportive, accepting, gracious,
affirming. His smile of delight as He looks upon you, His child. The
countenance of your loving Heavenly Father revealing the pleasure you bring to
Him because you are His!
and
give you peace.
Heart peace. Shalom peace.
“Peace that passes understanding” peace. Peace that Jesus gives. Peace the
world can’t give. Perfect peace. “The fruit of the Spirit” peace. The peace of
God. The peace from God. Peace with God. Peace to cover, peace to enfold, peace
to uphold. Peace to quiet you, peace to assure you that you are His.
The greatest blessing of the
Lord,
is the Lord of the
blessing.
The blessing of the Lord be upon
you!
