Fret-Free Friday: God and You

Fret-Free Friday: God and You
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

God created you, shaped you, and brought you into this world.
Thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel...

God wants you to live without fear because the ownership of your life is in His hands.
Fear not, for I have redeemed you...

God knows all about you. He knows your name and has set His claim upon you.
I have called you by your name; you are Mine...

God is with you. He will bring you through every difficult circumstance and trial.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.

God has His eye upon you. You are precious to Him and well loved.
Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honored, and I have loved you...

God is with you and doesn't want you to be in fear.
Fear not, for I am with you...

God wants you to put your trust in Him and Him alone.
[You are] My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no other God formed, nor shall there be after Me. I, even I, am the LORD, and besides Me there is no savior...

God is in absolute control.
Indeed before the day was, I am He; and there is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?

(Scriptures taken from Isaiah 43 in various translations. You can read it here.)

Part 47: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 47: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul (Psalm 143:8 NIV).

Walking in Rest!
Rest in your relationships, your work, your decisions, your daily walk. Rest in your mind, your spirit, your emotions. Rest in the future, the day, the moment. Trust Him. Rest in your salvation, your blessings, your gifts. Rest in His presence, His purpose, His plans. Begin each day in the joy of forgiveness, the power of the Holy Spirit and the hope of eternal life. Affirm that He is looking after you and has not forgotten you. Trust Him for the details of each day. Be at rest as you drive, as you shop, as you labor, as you play. Let His calm soothe you, His balm heal you, His stillness quiet you. Know His best and walk in rest.

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Revelation

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Revelation
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Dear Friends,
Take time to read this prayer this morning, praying it over the children in your life. Then pray it again, this time over yourself. Never forget that you are a child of God, and entitled to each of His promises!
-Marina

Promise
The secret things belong unto the Lord our God, but the things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all of the words of this law. Deuteronomy 29:29 AMP

Prayer
Lord, how wonderful are Your ways, how great is Your understanding, how vast is Your knowledge, how deep is Your love, how wise are Your plans, how mighty is Your strength, how complete is Your salvation, how perfect is Your word.

Thank You that You have revealed to us all that we need to know in order to do Your will and to find Your purpose for our lives.

I pray that my children will be seekers after Your treasures, finders of Your blessings, receivers of Your gifts, discoverers of the riches that are found in Your grace, possessors of Your abundant life, explorers that find the hidden wealth that is found upon Your pathways.

Open up to them, Lord, the knowledge that will guide their understanding and the wisdom that will direct their footsteps.

Assure them that they will always have enough light to take the next step and to do the next thing. I pray that they will receive and experience all that belongs to them in Christ. May their greatest delight be found in the joys of their obedience to You.

Fret-Free Friday: God, the Healer of Hearts!

Fret-Free Friday: God, the Healer of Hearts!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

To the saddened heart, He pours the oil of gladness;
To the discouraged heart, He brings a song of hope;
To the lonely heart, He comes with the nearness of His presence;
To the disappointed heart, He speaks a promise of better things;
To the drifting heart, He secures the anchor of His steadfast love;
To the wounded heart, He applies the healing ointment of His grace;
To the soiled heart, He washes with the rivers of His mercies;
To the troubled heart, He soothes with the quiet strength of His peace.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [curing pains and their sorrows] (Psalm 147:3 AMP).

Beautiful in all your splendor,
I yield to you in full surrender.
I take your yoke,
there is no toil;
Lord, pour on me
your healing oil.

Part 46: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 46: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him  (Psalm 32:10 NIV).

Walking in Rest!
I have the wisdom and the resources to take care of every detail of your life. It is My responsibility and delight to provide for you. I see what is ahead. I direct the steps you are taking. To worry is to question Me. To strive is to be unsure of My power. To fear is to doubt My love. I care about you. I love you. You are mine. I will never forget about you. Don't carry burdens I do not want you to bear. Be done with anxiety. It is not fitting for you. Let My words heal you. Let Me release you from the weight you carry. Give all your cares to Me. My hand is over you; My grace upon you. You shall not want any good thing.
Lovingly,
Your Father.

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Remembrance

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Remembrance
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Remember please, to praise God that we are still His children, and to pray these prayers over ourselves. His promises are true to us too!
-Marina

Promise
Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.  Isaiah 49:15-16 NKJV

Prayer
Thank You, Father, that You are a God of compassion, that You feel deeply, and care greatly for my family. Thank You that through Your compassion we can know Your inner feelings toward us, sense Your tender touch upon us, see the riches of what Your heart holds for us, and experience the fullness of what Your love brings to us.

Father, it is amazing to me when I realize that Your love for my children is even greater than the love I have for them, that the depth of Your feelings for them goes even deeper than what I hold for them.

What a great comfort it is to my heart to know how much You care for them, and that they are always in Your thoughts.

May my children always be aware of how much they mean to You, how precious they are in Your sight, how tenderly You carry them in Your thoughts, and that their names are written on the palms of Your compassionate hands.

Easter 2022, Part 5: Jesus’ 3 Greatest Triumphs: Triumph #3, Jesus Wins

Jesus’ 3 Greatest Triumphs: Triumph #3, Jesus Wins
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

For all who wonder what the future holds, it is this...Jesus wins! He who has won on the cross, who is winning in us by the Holy Spirit’s presence, will reveal His majesty over all things when He comes again to reign upon the earth as the King of kings and the Lord of lords. What a day! What a triumph it will be!

It is Jesus’ name that every tongue shall confess. It is King Jesus to whom every knee shall bend. All things will be under Jesus’ feet. He will rule with righteous authority. The rod of iron will be in His hand.  It is Jesus who will have the final say. He is the first and the last. He has the keys of Hades and death. He alone will be worthy to take the scroll and open its seals. He alone is worthy to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing. His win will be forever!

Then he said to me, “It is done! I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the thirsty water without price from the fountain of life. The victorious shall inherit these things” (Revelation 21:6-7 Phillips).

Easter 2022, Part 4: Jesus’ 3 Greatest Triumphs: Triumph #2, Jesus is Winning

Jesus’ 3 Greatest Triumphs: Triumph #2, Jesus is Winning
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Today, Jesus brings His victory to our defeated lives. He who overcame every enemy now lives His overcoming life in us. In our spiritual warfare He is winning the fight, in our defenselessness He is our armor, in a world that is falling apart He is our solid rock and sure foundation.

Jesus has not left us alone, but has sent the Holy Spirit to fill us, empower us, and equip us. It is the Holy Spirit in us who is making it possible for us to walk in Jesus’ winning ways.

Thanks be to God who leads us, wherever we are, on Christ’s triumphant way and makes our knowledge of Him spread throughout the world like a lovely perfume! (2 Corinthians 2:14 Phillips).

Easter 2022, Part 3: Jesus’ 3 Greatest Triumphs: Triumph #1, Jesus Won

Jesus’ 3 Greatest Triumphs: Triumph #1, Jesus Won
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Jesus’ victory on the cross was the victory of all victories. No one on earth or in the heavens could have done it. No way! Impossible! If Jesus lost, all was lost, and we would be without salvation.

Jesus defeated every enemy—sin, death, hell; every foe—satan, demons, principalities; every dominion—kingdoms of the world, powers of evil, strongholds of darkness. Forgiveness is ours, deliverance is ours, redemption is ours, and hope is ours because Jesus won!

Christ has utterly wiped out the damning evidence of broken laws and commandments which always hung over our heads, and completely annulled it by nailing it over his own head on the cross. And then, having drawn the sting of all the powers ranged against us, he exposed them, shattered, empty and defeated, in his final glorious triumphant act! (Colossians 2:14-15 Phillips).

Easter 2022, Part 2: Power in the Blood

Power in the Blood
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley, Meeting in the Meadow

The hymn writer, Lewis E. Jones, penned these faith inspiring words, “There is power in the blood of the Lamb.”

What kind of power? There is power in the blood to atone, to forgive, to redeem, to save, to cleanse, to justify, to sanctify, and to give us access to the Father in prayer.

One day, the blood of the Lamb of God will make it possible for you to be in heaven and stand before the throne of God to be a part of the greatest worship service ever known on earth or in heaven...

I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. And they were shouting with a mighty shout, “Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!” (Revelation 7:9-10 NLT).

How powerful is the blood of Jesus? Here is what His shed blood has provided for you:

Redemption
Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins (Romans 3:24 NLT).

Atonement
More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation (Romans 5:11 ESV).

Propitiation
Whom God displayed publicly [before the eyes of the world] as a [life-giving] sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation (propitiation) by His blood [to be received] through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness [which demands punishment for sin], because in His forbearance [His deliberate restraint] He passed over the sins previously committed [before Jesus’ crucifixion] (Romans 3:25 AMP).

Justification
So then as through one trespass [Adam’s sin] there resulted condemnation for all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men (Romans 5:18 AMP).

Reconciliation
For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:19 NLT).

Sanctification
God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace (1 Peter 1:2 NLT).

Salvation
And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ (Romans 1:16 NIV).

While we continue to remember the sacrifice of Jesus’ blood for our sins, we are able to celebrate that the story didn’t end on the cross, but continued with the revelation of the empty tomb—and it didn't end in the empty tomb, but as He revealed His risen self to those that He loved. Because He lives, we know we will live with Him in the heavenlies! Hallelujah! -Marina

Easter 2022, Part 1: Jesus the Passover Lamb

Dear Friends,
As you may know, the seasons of Passover and Easter are deeply intertwined. Roy has always given great insight to the meanings of Jewish tradition, culture, and religious history and the fulfilment of Passover through Jesus, the Messiah. Please join us each day this week as we present a special series, Easter 2022.

-Marina, for Roy and Meeting in the Meadow
...

Jesus the Passover Lamb
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us (1 Corinthians 5:7 NLT).

I grew up in a Jewish home. My grandfather, an Orthodox Jew, made sure our family gathered each year to celebrate the Passover. During those years I looked at Passover as a family tradition, but had no understanding of why God wanted us to keep the Passover feast. I was spiritually blind to the truth that within the elements of the Passover, God’s eternal plan of redemption was revealed.

It wasn’t until years later, as a believer in Jesus Christ, that the spiritual meaning of Passover became alive to me. Previously, I had thought Passover was a Jewish celebration and Easter was a Christian celebration. I was amazed when I discovered they both proclaimed the shed blood of the Lamb that was slain to bring about our redemption. The Last Supper was actually the Passover meal. It was Jesus who took the Passover bread and said, “This is my body.” It was Jesus who took the Passover cup of redemption and said, “This is my blood.”

There are many elements within the Passover feast that point us to Jesus’ glorious work of redemption. The instructions that God gave to Israel on the night He redeemed them from the bondage of slavery had a far greater meaning in His eternal plan. It included the death of His own Son, whose blood would be shed upon the cross to redeem us from our sins.

The redemptive work of Jesus is portrayed in the lamb of Passover. The requirements for the offering of the Passover lamb are recorded in the twelfth chapter of Exodus. (Exodus 12, NLT)

When we read the account of Israel’s first Passover and their exodus from Egypt, we discover the importance of the sacrificial lamb. Without the shed blood of the lamb, there could be no redemption.

Jesus was the Lamb of God sacrificed for us.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29 NKJV).

The Passover lamb that was chosen had to be without blemish.

Jesus was without the blemish of sin.

Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. (1 Peter 1:18-19 NKJV).

The Passover lamb was identified as the lamb of redemption.

Jesus is our redeemer.

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:13-14 NKJV).

The Passover lamb was to be slain.

Jesus was slain upon the cross.

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing! (Revelation 5:12 NKJV).

The Passover lamb’s blood had to be shed and applied to the door posts and lintel of each home to bring salvation from the judgment of death.

Jesus’ shed blood provides salvation when applied (appropriated) by faith to our hearts.

God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. (Romans 5:8-9 NKJV).

The Passover lamb was to be brought into the home, prepared, and partaken of by each family member.

Jesus must be received into the heart (partaken of) through faith by all who desire to become a part of God’s family.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: (John 1:12 NKJV).

Fret-Free Friday: God's Word

Fret-Free Friday: God's Word
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

God's Word can be fully trusted!

  • God does not speak lies (John 3:33).
  • God cannot lie because He is holy (Psalm 89:35). God's holiness does not allow Him to lie.
  • God's words are wise (Psalm 19:7). He never has to correct Himself or say He misspoke.
  • God's words will not change (Psalm 119:89). He always has it right from the beginning!
  • God's words are unshakeable. You can build your life upon them with absolute certainty and confidence (Matthew 7:24-25).

There is...

For ever hectic workday, there is a quiet rest.
For every painful moment, there is a healing touch.
For every hurtful feeling, there is a deeper joy.
For every disappointment, there is a love that means so much.
For every doubting question, there is a guiding truth.
For every wounding heartache, there is a healing balm.
For every pressing deadline, there is a boundless grace.
For every tribulation, there is a peace that brings calm.

Knowing His Best...
...All my springs are in thee. Psalm 87:7

Walking in Rest!
He is big enough, strong enough, wise enough, powerful enough and caring enough to see you through every circumstance of life. You are not alone in anything you face. You are His child; never act or think like an orphan.

My Monday Prayer: The Kingdom of God

My Monday Prayer: The Kingdom of God
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Promise
As the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love…Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man’s scrutiny]. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 AMP

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the realities of Your Kingdom. I thank You that You have more for us to see, to hear, and to know in our hearts than we have ever imagined.

I pray that the realities of Your unseen world will always have a greater influence upon our lives than the realities of the physical world that we see, hear, and touch every day.

May we daily see You with spiritual eyes, hear You with spiritual ears, and touch You with the outstretched hand of faith.

May Your light fill our vision, may Your touch warm our hearts, may Your voice be the loudest sound we hear within us.

Father, I ask that Your Holy Spirit will continue to show us things our eyes have never seen, speak things our ears have never heard, and reveal things our hearts have never known about the wonders you have prepared for us.

Fret-Free Friday: Nothing

Fret-Free Friday: Nothing
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

God's plan for you and care for you have nothing to do with chance, fate, or luck. His plan and care for you are solid. They're built upon a Rock—Jesus Christ—and established on truth, grounded in love, carried out by omnipotence, secured by providence, watched over by omnipresence, and determined by omniscience.

"We labor to take upon ourselves our weary burden, as if He were unable or unwilling to take it for us...Anxiety makes us doubt God's loving-kindness, and thus our love to Him grows cold, we feel mistrust, and thus grieve the Spirit of God...If through simple faith in His promise, we cast each burden as it comes upon Him, and are "anxious for nothing" because He undertakes to care for us, it will keep us close to Him, and strengthen us against much temptation." - C.H. Spurgeon, Devotional Classics of C.H. Spurgeon, Morning, May 26

I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is there anything too hard for Me? (Jeremiah 32:27 AMP)
