A Devotional Journey Through the
Psalms: Psalm 9
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow
I will praise You, O Lord, with
my whole heart;I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and
rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High (Psalm 9:1-2).
While most people observe you from
the outside, God is observing your heart.
Here are a few things He is looking
at:
- Is your heart fixed.
- Is your heart grateful.
- Is your heart unmixed.
- Is your heart fully trusting.
God’s will for us is to be
wholehearted in our response to Him. That doesn’t mean things have to be done
flawlessly—it means we are enthusiastic in our response instead of droopy,
disinterested, or disappointed. Wholehearted obedience will never carry a “poor
me” state of mind.
Insight: When you sing unto the
Lord from your heart, He is not concerned if you are off key.
Insight: When the Lord has your
whole heart He will also have your attention, interest, and commitment.
Insight: Joy doesn’t walk
hand-in-hand with half-heartedness........

Renew and Refresh in the Psalms
