A Devotional Journey Through the Psalms: Psalm 7

A Devotional Journey Through the Psalms: Psalm 7
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

For the righteous God tests the hearts and minds. My defense is of God,Who saves the upright in heart. God is a just judge (Psalm 7:9-11).

Discipline, correction, and training are some of the good things God does to His children. If God left you alone it would mean two things:

  1. You weren’t His child.
  2. You were His child, but He didn’t love you.
God is your Father. He is a righteous Father. He pays attention to you. Your character is important to Him. He is daily conforming you into the image of His Son. You are His ambassador in a lost world, and His light in a darkened world.

As God’s child keep these things in mind:
  • God isn’t being mean when He wants you to be clean.
  • It’s always easier to nip something in the bud than to let it grow into a full grown tree.
  • Thank God daily that you can know the freedom and joy of being clean.
Insight: Your hardest day as a child of God is better than your easiest day as an orphan.

Insight: God’s righteousness means that everything God does in your life is the right thing. If He were unrighteous, everything God did in your life would be the wrong thing.
