On a human level each of us has a portion. It may be a handful, a houseful, or a heart-full. A portion, however big or small, is something we possess inwardly or outwardly. Whatever your portion is, in whatever area it may be, it is yours to give.
 
Your portion is what you have in your hand.

God’s portion is what He has in His hand.

God’s portion begins when your portion has been depleted.

When a boy’s portion for a meal (which was enough to feed one) was given to Jesus, God’s portion was served (which was more than enough to feed a multitude).
 
I cried out to You, O Lord: 
I said, “You are my refuge, 
My portion in the land of the living
(Psalm 142:5 NKJV).
