Jesus: The Treasure

-Roy Lessin, Jesus Name Above All Names

For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels. -2 Corinthians 4:6-8 NJKV

People often ask the question, "What's life all about?" Thankfully, God had the answer to that question long before anyone asked it.

What's life all about? It's about the Treasure, not the vessel; it's about His glory, not our appearance; it's about His love, not our niceness. Life is all about His purpose, not our plans; it's about His kingdom, not our agenda; it's about His reign, not our rights. It's not about our opinions, it's about His truth; it's not about our way, it's about His will; it's not about our efforts; it's about His life. To put it simply, it's all about Jesus.

Jesus Christ is God's treasure. He is more brilliant than any diamond, worth more than any jewel, more precious than any metal, more beautiful than any polished stone. His value will never diminish and His glory will never tarnish. His kingdom will never be conquered and His throne will never be overthrown.

To find Him is to find life's greatest treasure—He is everything good, true, glorious, right. Everything your heart could ever hope for. To possess all and not have Him is to be empty; to forsake all and have Him is to be fulfilled.
