My Morning Prayer, God Has Chosen You

My Morning Prayer, God Has Chosen You
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

God Has Chosen You
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit (John 15:16 NLT).

God was the one who formed you, gave you the breath of life, and brought you into the world. He did this so that His arms could embrace you and His love could keep you. He wanted you to know that your relationship with Him would always be of more value than the things He would have you do for Him. He wanted you to be certain that He loved you completely before you ever did anything in His service, so that your service would never become a way of trying to earn His love or favor.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

My heavenly Father, you have created, called, equipped, and established me here on earth and in your kingdom, because of the work you have done, and the work your son, Jesus, did on my behalf. It is ONLY because of Jesus's blood that I am worthy to be in your presence. Thank you for your love, for your compassion and care for me. There is none like you, and I owe you my life. In Jesus's name, amen.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 82
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Overflowing Day!

Some people fill their cup half-full,
others fill their cup half-empty;
The Holy Spirit, however,
never fills
your cup
with half of anything!

My cup runs over (Psalm 23:5).

Ten Certainties for Uncertain Times, Part 9

Ten Certainties for Uncertain Times, Part 9
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

God loves you and will not fail you.

You are God’s child and He is your Father. He loves and cares for you more than you will ever know. He is the one who sent His Son to die for you. He is the one who ran to receive you when He saw your heart turn to Him for forgiveness. He is the one whose pleasure it is to give you the Kingdom. All that He is, He is for you. All His redemptive names are yours to claim and call upon. He is Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides for you; He is Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals you; He is Jehovah-Nissi, the God who is your banner; He is Jehovah-M’Kaddesh, the God who sanctifies you; He is Jehovah-Shalom, the God who is your peace; He is Jehovah-Tsidkenu, the God who is your righteousness; He is Jehovah-Rohi, the God who is your shepherd; He is Jehovah-Shammah, the God who is present with you.

The depth of His love for you cannot be measured, and its height cannot be scaled. He wants you to trust Him completely because He will not fail you. He cannot. When you go through trials, He will keep you from defeat; when you face temptations, He will keep you from shame. When the enemy comes in like a flood, He will raise up a standard against Him. No weapon that is formed against you will prosper, for the battle is the Lord’s. You will never face an enemy that you have to fear or run from for “greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.” Your life belongs to Him and your times are in His hands.

Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said,
“I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”
So we can say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” (Hebrews 13:5-6 NLT).

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is (1 John 3:1-2 KJV).

The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying:
“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you (Jeremiah 31:3 NKJV).

Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of Thy wings (Psalm 17:8 KJV).

Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you (1 Peter 5:7 KJV).

My Morning Prayer, Being Still to Know His Will

My Morning Prayer, Being Still to Know His Will
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

Being Still to Know His Will
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

The likeness of the firmament above the heads of the living creatures was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads…. And when they stood still, they let down their wings. A voice came from above the firmament that was over their heads; whenever they stood, they let down their wings (Ezekiel 1:22, 24–25 NKJV).

“Flapping wings” is a picture of activity. It can be good activity; it can even be activity in the Lord’s work. However, we all need those times when we quiet ourselves before the Lord. “Letting down our wings” means quieting ourselves and being still before the Lord to hear His voice. It is a good thing to be still and know that He is God.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Good morning, Lord. As I envision the times in my day that my physical "wings are flapping" I also pause to think of the activities that "flap the wings" of my mind, my emotions, my heart.

Father, make me still. Place your hands upon me, around me, over me, beside me, and quiet me—mind, body, spirit, heart.

Thank you for the power of your Holy Spirit to encapsulate me, protecting me from the unnecessary flapping going on around me in the world—in the global news, in everything online, my family and home, at my church, and in my community. Allow the stillness of your power to help me to "be still and know that you are God," and that there is no one like you. Let your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven, and help me to lay down my will, that your will might take precedence. I love you, and need your power to be at work in me, around me, and through me. In Jesus's precious and holy name, amen.

Everyone has a story. The question is, “Who is writing the story?” Only God’s story will end with “happily ever after”!

…looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2 NKJV).

Ten Certainties for Uncertain Times, Part 8

Ten Certainties for Uncertain Times, Part 8
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

God’s final judgment and redemption are certain.

Jesus Christ is coming back. The outcome of all things has already been determined. Jesus is the winner. He is without rival in the universe. No evil, no outlaw, no terrorist, no anarchist will be standing in the end. Every enemy of God will be defeated, every false prophet will be exposed, every evil spirit will be chained, and every accusing tongue will be silenced. The final chapter in the Book of Life has already been written, and there will be no need for rewrites or revisions. All that remains is for its writings to be fulfilled. One day soon, you will forever be with the Lord.

A basketball fan was watching his favorite team play on a delayed telecast. It was the biggest game of the season and the outcome would influence the national championship. The fan watched the game with great interest. As the game reached it’s final minutes the score was tied. Anything could happen. The teams were trading basket for basket. The fans in the stadium were going wild as the tension continued to build.

The fan at home, however, sat calmly on the couch without a fear or worry. How could he be so calm in such a crisis situation for his team?

The answer is a simple one. Before the game started the fan had heard the final score announced and knew that his team had won before the replay had begun. In the same, the believer in Jesus Christ can walk through tense times in perfect peace because he too already knows what the outcome will be.

And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth (Ephesians 1:10 NLT).

But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness (2 Peter 3:13 NLT).

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God… (1Thessalonians 4:16 NLT).

Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices shouting in heaven:
“The world has now become the Kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever” (Revelation 11:15 NLT).

My Morning Prayer, Leave It All with the Lord

My Morning Prayer, Leave It All with the Lord
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

Leave It All with the Lord
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day (2 Timothy 1:12 NKJV).

What about…

Your career?
Leave it with Him.
Your security?
Leave it with Him.
Your ministry?
Leave it with Him.
Your future?
Leave it with Him.

Give everything to the Lord, and leave everything with the Lord.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

My sweetest Lord Jesus, thank you for your presence near me in the midst of every season, and every season of life. When the weather is unpredictable, the earth is shaking, the political world is in turmoil, and my heart finds it hard to be at peace, BE MY PEACE. Just as you know the number of hairs on my head and grains of sand on my favorite shoreline—you alone know the number of my days, and what each one holds. This very morning I commit my steps to you...the distance, speed, and direction that they go in. My career, security, ministry and future all belong to you. They are all yours to do with whatever you want to. I give them all to you...I leave it all with you. I am nothing without your love and direction in my life. Be my all in all, over and over again. In Jesus's name, amen.

Ten Certainties for Uncertain Times, Part 7

Ten Certainties for Uncertain Times, Part 7
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

God has given you all that you need to serve Him.

The grace of God covers you, the presence of God is in you, the angels of God are with you, the arms of God are around you, the gifts of God are for you, and the power of God is upon you. He has not abandoned you or left you in this world as an orphan, alone and forsaken. He has called you to serve Him and equipped you to serve Him. He has given you the ministry of reconciliation so that you can reach out to others; He has given you the ministry of intercession so that you can pray for others; He has given you the ministry of hope so that you can comfort others. You are His ambassador on a holy assignment. God is for you, the Holy Spirit is in you, Jesus is with you, and all the heavenly hosts are on your side.
The weapons of your warfare are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. He has given you the whole armor of God for every battle you face. He has you covered from head to toe.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— (Ephesians 6:13-18 NKJV).

“A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them. If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward (Matthew 24:45-46 NLT).

“…I am with you always, even unto the end of the world" (Matthew 28:20 KJV).

My Morning Prayer: What About?

My Morning Prayer: What About?
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

What About?
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7 NKJV).

God wants you to cast all your care upon Him, but what about…

Your plans?
Leave them with Him.
Your possessions?
Leave them with Him.
Your relationships?
Leave them with Him.
Your desires?
Leave them with Him.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Oh, Father...I am so fickle in my wants, my needs, my prayers. Just this week you have shown me again, that to pray "Thy will be done..." is the safest way for me to pray. I want one thing, and think I want another, and need none of it...just to trust in you and your plans for me and my life—for those I love and their lives. So remind me in your gentle and loving way, that your way is better. Even if it looks scary because it's not what I expected...help me to trust you. Even if I never thought to pray that for me (or them)...help me to remember that my vision is so short and you see all of our tomorrows. Even if I wouldn't wish this trial on anyone (especially someone I love dearly!)...that you do not leave us alone and you will lead us, guide us, walk beside us and come behind us. You have your armies stationed in the hills about us. And we can trust you alone. In Jesus's name, amen.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 79

Timely Tidbits of Truth 79
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

His FAITHFULNESS is with you!

He came for you and bought you with His own blood. You are His! No one can pull His hand away from your life. He upholds you. He is writing your story. He is in every detail. The good work He began in you He will complete. He is the Author and Finisher of your faith. He will never leave or forsake you. He is with you! Always!
...
Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands (Deuteronomy 7:9 NLT).

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 NKJV).

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns (Philippians 1:6 NLT).

Ten Certainties for Uncertain Times, Part 6

Ten Certainties for Uncertain Times, Part 6
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

You are under the New Covenant bought by the blood of Jesus Christ.

The New Covenant is a covenant that has been sealed by God’s promise and His oath. It is an eternal agreement that God has made with you through His Son. He sent Him from heaven to earth to establish this covenant with you. When Jesus came, He came to save you, cleanse you, forgive you, and deliver you from your sins. He lived a sinless life so that He could offer Himself upon the cross as your substitute.  He was the sacrificial lamb who made atonement for your sin. What was incomplete in the old covenant became perfect in the new; what was temporary in the old covenant became permanent in the new; what was insufficient in the old covenant became a completed work in the new.  The blood covenant of Jesus Christ is a perfect work.

The new covenant is a covenant of grace because He has given you what you didn’t deserve, and it is a covenant of mercy because He has not given you what you did deserve. Because of this covenant, you are not your own but have been bought with the price of His blood. You are His and His alone. He is your Redeemer, and He has taken full responsibility for your life since the day you gave your heart to Him. Because of the blood covenant your future is secure, your inheritance is guaranteed, and your destiny is certain.

But when God found fault with the people, he said: “The day is coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. This covenant will not be like the one I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand and led them out of the land of Egypt. They did not remain faithful to my covenant, so I turned my back on them, says the Lord. But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. And they will not need to teach their neighbors, nor will they need to teach their relatives, saying, ‘You should know the Lord.’ For everyone, from the least to the greatest, will know me already. And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins.”

When God speaks of a “new” covenant, it means he has made the first one obsolete. It is now out of date and will soon disappear (Hebrews 8:8-13 NLT).

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel (Hebrews 12:22-24 NKJV).

Now the God of peace…brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant (Hebrews 13:20 KJV).

My Morning Prayer, Leaving All for His All

My Morning Prayer, Leaving All for His All
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

Leaving All for His All
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ (Philippians 3:8 NKJV).

From the book God Calling by A. J. Russell we find this statement: “Leave all to Me.” Although this statement is not a direct quote from Scripture, it is in agreement with Scripture. Let these words sink deep into our hearts.

God, who is our all in all, wants us to leave our all with Him—all our cares, all our burdens, all our fears, all our worries. He also wants us to leave our hopes, our expectations, our needs, and our very lives with Him.

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Father God, there have been so many times in my life that I have placed other things or other people on the throne of my heart. I confess to you that I recognize that I have idolized my things, my position, my marriage and family, and even my hopes and dreams—having placed them in higher importance of my relationship with you. Thank you for these gifts, and help me to keep them in perspective, not in a higher priority.

Likewise, I have put worrying about my problems and concerns over trusting you. And I have held on to my hurts—emotional and physical, and not shared them or surrendered them to you, which keeps you from being able to work in them and robs you of all glory. Teach me Lord, to trust you with every area of my life! To give you glory and praise in the good and hard seasons! To trust that you are working all things together for my good, YOUR plan for my good (NOT MINE) because you love and care for me. In Jesus's name, amen.
