My Morning Prayer; Conversations 7

My Morning Prayer; Conversations 7

Conversations 7
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

The tempter said to me:
You’ve worked hard and had a busy life. You deserve to retire and spend your time relaxing and enjoying yourself.

I answered:
Why would I want to retire from the things that last forever!

So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless (1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT).

No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.
(Isaiah 54:17 NKJV)

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Good Morning Lord! As my generation is aging, more and more comes across our screens and into our mailboxes about retirement and leaving the workforce. I realize You have created me and gifted me with a unique set of skills and talents, and I want to continue to serve You in all the ways You lead me. I also want to be an encouragement to others in similar situations! Equip me in this season of change. Continue to point me to your Word, to find the Scriptures to inspire and lead me into whatever You have for me in the next season of life. Give me courage to stay in my current situation, or give me bravery to step into the open doors that are clearly meant for me to walk through. I know that it is not about money, benefits, or security—for only You hold the keys to whatever my needs may be in every tomorrow. This is about being strategically placed to bring honor to Your name, to grow Your kingdom, and to encourage the body of Christ. Lord, I want to walk with You every day of my life, and I am confident that I will spend eternity with You. Prompt me to follow Your lead, that others may dwell with us in heaven for eternity. In Jesus's name, amen.

My Morning Prayer: Conversations 6

My Morning Prayer: Conversations  6
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

The tempter said to me:
When someone hurts you wouldn’t you like to see justice done? How could you forgive that person and let them get away with the wrong things that were done.

I answered:
Forgiveness is the green light that allows me to travel on the highway of freedom. To not forgive doesn’t imprison the offender, it imprisons me.

And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you for your offenses (Mark 11:25 NASB).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Forgive me Father, for the many times I have held on to unforgiveness. I know that You have shown SO much grace and mercy to me, forgiving me for all of my sins and tresspasses. Help me to remember the freedom I experience when I forgive others! I love You and want to be a reflection of Your grace and mercy, so please keep teaching me and molding me as clay to be more like You. In Jesus's name. Amen.

The tempter said to me:
I know you want the best things for your children.
If you could give them one gift of great value would it be—property, cash, stocks, or precious metals?

I answered:
Regarding the treasures of this world, the best possession I can pray for my children is to have their hearts filled with contentment.

After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content (1 Timothy 6:7-8 NLT).

No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.
Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Father, it is too easy to get caught up in the races of fame and fortune in today's world. I believe that it is even harder for my children and grandchildren to not measure their value by what they possess. Change our measuring point, Lord. Thank You for providing all that we need, before we even ask or think. Help us, Lord, to remember that You have clothed the sparrow and the lilies of the field, and their splendor is unmatched in the world. Make us value this gift of contentment, and to slow down to enjoy each thing You have placed around us. I desire to draw closer to You, and I pray the generations that come behind me will learn to value this commitment too. Help us to see You more clearly, Lord. We love You and praise You. In Jesus's name, amen.

The tempter said to me:

Have you noticed how expensive things have gotten? You don’t have a lot of resources. Aren’t you worried?

I answered:

I don’t depend upon my resources. The One who takes care me has resources that are unlimited. When His are gone is when I’ll start to worry.

For all the animals of the forest are mine, and I own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalms 50:10 NLT).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Whew, Lord. This rings true to me today. Thank You for placing me in a place where I have access to all I need...even if it is more expensive. Help me to remember that I only need what I NEED, not all that I want, or all that I think I deserve. Help me to continue to remember those who have even less than I do, and to continue to live generously as You lead me. Thank You for access to You through prayer, and that I can ask You for anything, and that within Your will, my needs will be met. Thank You for the power of Your Holy Spirit, who whispers to me when You want me to give. All I have is because of You, and all I can receive is from You. May I continue to treat each thing as it is Yours, always. I want to be Your hands and feet in this neighborhood, this church, this community, this world. You own them all. Help me to release what is rightfully Yours back to You, that You may place it where it needs to be. I see how You use my tithes to go farther than my feet can go. Help me to continue to live this way. In Jesus's name, amen.

Welcome to a new short series that will be featured on Our Morning Prayer postings each Monday. The series is titled Conversations and its focus is upon Biblically based responses to the temptations the enemy brings into our thoughts. We pray that this series will help equip you with the power of Biblical truth to combat the internal conversations that challenge you in your daily spiritual walk the Lord.

-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

The tempter said to me:
You are a nobody and nothing you do is important.

I answered:
I am content. I’ve placed my life into the hands of the One who truly is Somebody and He can do all things.

For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen (
Romans 11:36 NKJV).

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

My dearest heavenly Father, thank you for being trustworthy and dependable. Thank you for all that You provide for me, for guiding me and leading me by Your Holy Spirit. Your foundation is the strength of my life. I AM content. I trust You to do all things and manage all of my difficulties for Your glory. Your will is all I desire in my life and I want nothing more than what You will provide in my life. Please help me to recall scriptures to combat the lies of the enemy. Place God-following people in my path to lift me up and help me remember WHO I am and WHOSE I am. I know You love me, and it is because of Your kindness towards me, a sinner, that I am led to a deeper place of love with You. I am yours. In Jesus's name, amen.
