Come and Dine

I was the guest speaker at a Sunday morning service. Just before speaking I looked out at the people seated in the sanctuary. I saw hungry hearts and immediately felt the pressure to feed them. In my panic I heard God say these words in my spirit, “You are not the meal. I am. All I want you to do is serve, in a loving way, the food I have prepared.” Immediately, the pressure grew wings and flew away.

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world (John 6:51 NKJV).

We have a moment-by-moment Jesus who is involved in our moment-by-moment needs. His eternal peace is an abiding reality in our hearts—
so are His joy, His mercies, and His grace.

Even though we may have to wait for our circumstances to change, we never need to wait for His life within us to be our sufficiency.

He is with you now; He is for you now; He is working now.

 
Those who trust in the Lord are steady as Mount Zion, unmoved by any circumstance (Psalm 125:1 TLB).
 
It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man (Psalm 118:8 NKJV).

Look Back

Take a moment a look back over your life—
Remember the needs you had that God provided.
Remember the nice things that took you by surprise.
Remember the difficult situations God used for good.
Remember the ways God showed you that He hadn’t forgotten you—
and always remember that He never will!
 
Remember the LORD your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath (Deuteronomy 8:18 NLT).

My Morning Prayer

My sweet Heavenly Father...You are gracious and giving, wanting to provide for my every need. Your majesty is on display everywhere I look, Your creative hand at work in every beautiful thing. Help me to remember that You know all things, create all things, do all things, and never forget me and my needs. Oh, how quickly I can forget You and Your power! Help me to remember the many times You have provided for me and those I love, and how You still provide for us today. I love You, and want to bring You glory by testifying of Your goodness. In Jesus' name, amen.

In the uncertain times in which we are living, God wants us to live as people of faith. In a world that is shaking, we stand upon His unshakeable Kingdom; amidst fear, we have peace beyond understanding; amidst sorrow, we hav
e joy unspeakable; amidst trouble, we have every comfort and consolation; amidst uncertainty, we have the blessed hope.

The Bible reminds us to:
· Be watchful
· Be peaceful
· Be prayerful
· Be sober
· Be ready

The Bible reminds us not to:
· Be fearful
· Be deceived
· Be troubled
· Be spiritually asleep
· Be weighed down with cares

When Jesus walks into your life,
He comes with scarred feet;
He comes as a servant—
He greets you with
a basin and a towel;
He calls you to follow Him
by taking your hand in His—
Letting His wounds assure you
that you will never walk the path
He has chosen for you without His presence.
