Inexpressible

Inexpressible
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

The Bible declares an ineffable vocabulary. Think of all the words that are bigger than our brains can fully grasp…

Here is a short list compiled by F.E. Marsh:

God’s peace passes understanding. (Philippians 4:7)
His love is everlasting. (Jeremiah 31:3)
His ways past finding out. (Romans 11:33)
His riches are unsearchable. (Ephesians 3:8)
His gift is indescribable. (2 Corinthians 9:15)
His joy is inexpressible.  (1 Peter 1:8)
His love is unknowable. (Ephesians 3:19)

Everything about God’s nature, character, and attributes can be followed by a list of ineffable words. For example, we can say this about His generosity, His goodness, and His kindness…
"God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are extremely, exceedingly, abundantly, unendingly, inexpressibly generous, good, and kind."

We can also say this about His love, joy, and peace…
"God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are extremely, exceedingly, abundantly, unendingly, inexpressibly loving, joyful, and peaceful."

Be assured that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are working in your life in an extremely, exceedingly, abundantly, unendingly, inexpressibly kind of way!

My Morning Prayer, It’s All about Jesus

My Morning Prayer, It’s All about Jesus
-Roy Lessin and Marina Bromley

It’s All about Jesus
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence (Colossians 1:18 ASV).

It’s not about living for Jesus; it’s about letting Jesus live in us. (John 15:5)
It’s not about improving ourselves; it’s about Jesus transforming us. (Luke 9:23)
It’s not about our self-image; it’s about Jesus’ glory. (1 Corinthians 10:31)
It’s not about our abilities; it’s about Jesus’ power. (Acts 1:8)
It’s not about our inconveniences; it’s about Jesus’ cross. (Hebrews 4:9)
It’s not about our resources; it’s about Jesus’ riches. (2 Corinthians 9:6)
It’s not about our cleverness; it’s about Jesus’ favor. (Psalm 18:32)
It’s not about our plans; it’s about Jesus’ will. (Joshua 1:8)
It’s not about our recognition; it’s about Jesus’ approval. (John 8:29)

My Morning Prayer
-Marina Bromley

Father, as I come to You in need this morning, help me to remember that it has nothing to do with me...and everything to do with who I let You be in my life. Be my everything! In Jesus' name, amen.

Timely Tidbits of Truth 6

Timely Tidbits of Truth 6
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Why seek the heavenly house of prayer?
Because it is your Father’s house.

Why knock at the door?
Because your Father is at home.

Why ask when He welcomes you in?
Because He is a good Father and will never give you a stone.

For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened (Luke 11:9 NKJV).

For Such a Time As This

For Such a Time As This
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Who then is the faithful and wise servant whom his master has put in charge of his household to give the others [in the house] their food supplies at the proper time?  Blessed is that [faithful] servant when his master returns and finds him doing so (Matthew 24:45-46 AMP).

As the kingdoms of this world are being shaken, we can be assured that the kingdom of God will never be shaken or removed. He sits upon an eternal throne of glory, righteousness, and power. He is not pacing the floor, wringing his hands, or wiping the sweat off an anxious brow as He ponders what to do. The Lord reigns!

How blessed you are to have the King of kings in charge of your life! You are His servant and He is your Master. As your Master, He has given you an assignment. You have a God-given place to serve Him, for such a time as this.

Your assignment and your place are God’s choosing. His choice was not based upon your talent, or your accomplishments. It was based upon where He wanted you to serve Him. That choice was made from God’s wisdom. It is the perfect place for you. If you feel inadequate, consider it a blessing. It is because of your inadequacy that you will remain completely dependent upon Him.

When God looked at me, a weak little man, He said, “I can use him because of his insignificance.” -Francis of Assisi

Your place and your assignment are not being measured by your results. That is the Master’s business. There are two things a servant can do that will please the one you serve. The first is to serve Him willingly. The second is to serve Him faithfully.

In the kingdom of God it is not busyness that receives the reward of “well done”, but faithful obedience which comes from the heart.

Jesus’ Yoke

Jesus’ Yoke
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light (Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV).

The Gospel is our declaration of dependence. We don’t do well when we live a life independent from Jesus’ lordship over us. Living life according to our own way is a disaster.

Thank God if you got up this morning with the realization of how much you need Jesus. That realization is the voice of the Holy Spirit. He not only wants you to know how much you need Jesus, but He also wants you to know how much Jesus has to give you and all He wants to be to you.

Stay dependent on Jesus. Take His yoke. Learn of Him. Rest awaits you!
