Part 44: Knowing God's Best...Walking in Rest

Part 44: Knowing God's Best...Walking in Rest
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen. (Romans 11:36).

Walking in Rest!
Rest is trusting God for everything and in everything. He is rest to your ears, for He speaks in a still small voice...your eating, for He will bless your food and water...your body, for He is your health...your labors, for He will reward you...your family, for He will build your house...your children, for they will be taught of the Lord...your trials, for He will not allow you to go through more than you can bear...your decisions, for He will guide you with His eye...your future, for He prepares the way before you.

My Morning Prayer: A Prayer of Humility

My Morning Prayer: A Prayer of Humility
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Promise

In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, dress yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 1 Peter 5:5-6 NLT

Prayer
God, I thank You that You are our all-in-all, that You are above all, and that You rule over all that is in heaven and on earth.

Thank you for those who You place over our lives, and for using them to help shape us, to mold our character, to conform us to Your image, and to help prepare us for the things You have prepared for us.

I pray that children will be honoring of those that you have placed over them, that they will give honor to everyone, especially to the elderly, and that they will learn to know Your heart when You said, “I have not come to be served but to serve.”

May our hearts never be filled with pride, be puffed up, or look down upon others. May we be humble vessels who are aware of our needs, who are broken and contrite before You, and who realize, moment by moment, our total dependency upon Your grace.

Fret-Free Friday: Because

Fret-Free Friday: Because
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Because...

Because God's kingdom is unshakeable, we don't need to steady it.
Because God's provision of salvation is complete, we don't need to improve it.
Because God's love is boundless, we don't need to hoard it.
Because God's way is the best way, we don't need to change it.
Because God's Word is truth, we don't need to spin it.
Because God's hand can open any door, we don't need to force it.
Because God's timing is perfect, we don't need to rush it.
Because God's plan for us comes from a Father's heart, we don't need to fight it.

He Giveth More Grace

When we have exhausted our store of endurance
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father's full giving is only begun.

Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.

His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.

Part 43: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 43: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
O LORD, you have searched me and you know me (Psalm 139:1 NIV).

Walking in Rest!
You can rest in the Lord because He knows you better than anyone else (You discern my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways.), understands you more than anyone else (Before a word is on my tongue, You know it completely.), cares for you more than anyone else (You have laid Your hand upon me.), is nearer than anyone else (If I go to the heavens, You are there. If I make my bed in the depths, You are there...Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast.), watches over you closer than anyone else (You created my inmost being: You knit me together in my mother's womb.), loves you more than anyone else (How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God. How vast is the sum of them.).

(You can read Psalm 139 here.)

My Morning Prayer: Truth in Relationships

My Morning Prayer: Truth in Relationships
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Just as we can pray this prayer for the children in our life, we can pray it over ourselves. It is important that we remember that we are still a child of God, and can continue to grow in our relationship with Him.
-Marina

Promise
My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them! My child, don’t go along with them! Stay far away from their paths. Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character. Proverbs 1:10,15 (NLT), 1 Corinthians 15:33 (AMP)

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the truth and light we receive from Your Word. Thank you that Your wisdom can keep us from going through heartaches and sorrows that You never intended for us to know in our experience.

I pray that my children will learn to trust in Your Word in each decision they make; that they will know beyond a doubt that Your ways are the best; that they will be assured that You will not withhold anything from them that is good; that they will have the peace and satisfaction of knowing that their obedience to You means living without regrets.

I also ask that you will bless my children in their relationships throughout their lives. May they know what it means to be a good friend and may they always be blessed with good friends—those who are growing in faith, strong in character, upright in conduct, loyal and supportive, true and trusting, helpful and kind-of-heart.
