My Morning Prayer: Foundations

Promise
Exult in His holy name; rejoice, you who worship the LORD. Search for the LORD and for His strength; continually seek Him. Remember the wonders He has performed, His miracles, and the rulings He has given. Psalm 105:3-5 (NLT)

Prayer
Lord, as my children grow, I ask that they will never outgrow their pursuit of Your will, their desire for Your ways, their hunger for Your word, their dependency on Your strength, and their need for Your grace. May the spiritual foundations that are established in their hearts when they are young, help them as they grow, to build strong lives of faith and obedience; hope and trust; righteousness and freedom; love and compassion.

May they remember everything You do for them, everything You have provided for them, everything You have taught them, and everything You have done to bless them.

Bless them, Lord, with good memories, keen understanding, sweet remembrances, sound minds, and practical understanding.

May we all cherish, with full hearts, all Christ has done for us—for the blood that was shed, for the forgiveness that was extended, for the salvation that was provided, and for the love that was freely given.

Fret-Free Friday: God's Promises

Fret-Free Friday: God's Promises
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

God's Promises
You can trust God's promises absolutely!

  • He will never forget a promise He's made. (God knows all things.)
  • He will never promise more than He is able to do. (With God, nothing is impossible.)
  • He will never promise something He has no intention of doing. (God can't and won't lie.)
  • He will never fail to fulfill a promise because of distractions. (With God there is no shadow of turning.)

Thinking "What will happen to me?" can move you away from God's grace by opening the door for your imagination to fill in the blanks with fear and worry.

You need grace for each issue you face. God is the source of all the grace you need, and He will not skimp or hold back any portion you need for today's journey. Tomorrow's grace will be yours tomorrow, and it also will be more than sufficient.

God is able to make all grace abound toward you. -2 Corinthians 9:8

Part 39: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 39: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
"Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy." Matthew 5:7

Walking in Rest!
God's rest within you will affect the relationships around you.

As you rest in His grace, mercy, forgiveness, kindness and goodness, you will be able to extend it to others. The blessing of rest in relationships is in not demanding things from others or constantly judging their performance. It is a joy to be around those who give you the freedom to be yourself and who won't reject you if you fail. They accept you for who you are instead of trying to change you...forgive you if you have offended...extend love regardless of how you perform...serve you instead of using you for selfish interests...show you mercy instead of judgment for wrongs done.

My Morning Prayer: A Prayer of Guidance

My Morning Prayer: A Prayer of Guidance
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

As you read this prayer, please remember that you (yes, YOU!) are a child of God, and will continue to be no matter how old you are. In addition to praying this over the children in your life, in your family or around you in your neighborhood or church, please pray these things for you, that you may benefit from them. -Marina

Promise
Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. Proverbs 22:6 NLT

Prayer
Father, I need to know Your direction in my life so that I can rightly bring direction to my children’s lives. I need Your training so that I can train them up in the way they should go. I ask that You would give me daily wisdom to speak the right things and to do the right things. Place Your words in my mouth, guide my footsteps in Your pathway.

Give me Your wisdom so that I may give wise guidance; give me Your holy love so that I may choose what is truly best; give me light and understanding so that I may clearly point the way to Your will.

I thank You for your promise to keep my children on the right path. I pray that they would love Your ways and Your will, and carry Your songs of joy in their hearts. May their relationship with You be constant and growing.

I pray they will always walk in what is good, what is true, and what is right. May they celebrate the life You have given them, appreciate their uniqueness, and fully embrace the desires You place within their hearts.

Fret-Free Friday: To Be Still

Fret-Free Friday: To Be Still
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

To Be Still...
    Trust is a must.

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the LORD forever, for in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength (Isaiah 26:3-4).

    Rest works best.

One handful of peace and quiet is better than two handfuls of hard work and of trying to catch the wind (Ecclesiastes 4:6 GW).

    Peace brings release.

He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me (Psalm 55:18).

My Shepherd

There's a roadblock on my pathway,
And I fear that I will stray.
I must walk where You are leading,
Oh, my Shepherd,
clear the way.
There's a pace that's very hectic,
That pursues me through the day.
How I long for quiet waters,
Oh, my Shepherd,
lead the way.
There's a call to bring You glory,
But I'm just a jar of clay.
Lord, you know my every weakness,
Oh, my Shepherd,
be the way.

-Roy Lessin
