My Monday Prayer: Prayer from Psalm 46:10

My Monday Prayer: Prayer from Psalm 46:10
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Be—God, I say “yes” to You. I choose to allow Your way to shape me and Your will to direct me in what is best. I surrender instead of resist, I yield instead of fight, I believe instead of doubt.

Still—Father, may Your rest abide and Your peace abound within me. Quiet all anxiety that troubles my thoughts and unsettles my emotions. I bring my soul under the control of the Holy Spirit; I stand steady upon the unmovable foundations of Your kingdom; I receive the sufficiency of Your grace and the encouragement of Your promises as you calm my soul.

And know— Lord, thank you that Your word is sure, unchanging, and indisputable. Your word is true. I am certain. You have saved me from guessing, wondering, wishing, or pretending. I know! I believe!

I am God— You are who You say You are. You do what You say You do. There is no other! You are the highest, the greatest, the best. You have no weakness, no lack, and no equal. You are my God, and my Heavenly Father. I find comfort in Your nearness, security in Your voice, courage in Your strength, hope in Your promises. You are enough. More than enough! You are with me. You are my refuge. I am safe in Your care.

Be still, and know that I am God! Psalm 46:10

Fret-Free Friday: Shalom

Fret-Free Friday: Shalom
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovah-shalom (Judges 6:24).

The Jewish word "shalom" is much more than a casual social greeting. It is also a prayer, a blessing, a deep desire, and a benediction. Shalom is packed with the full blessing of God. In Hebrew, the word has many significant meanings that are used throughout the Scriptures. The following blessing is a compilation of those meanings.

May you be whole in body, soul, and spirit as a result of being in harmony with God's will and purpose for your life. May His peace be your covering, may your heart know His fullness, and by His mighty power may you know victory over every enemy.

May God bring to pass the deepest desires of your heart.
May you know the healing power of His presence and the restoration of every broken relationship.
Through His sufficiency, may every need that you face be met by His limitless resources.
May His covenant promises be fulfilled in your life and in your family.
May He bring you the greatest measure of contentment and the deepest satisfaction that your heart can possibly know.

...

The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
the LORD life up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
(Numbers 6:24-26).

Part 18: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!

Part 18: Knowing His Best...Walking in Rest!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Knowing His Best...
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6, 7 NIV

Walking in Rest!
Rest comes through release. Release is "placing" something into God's hands; rest is "leaving" it in God's hands. When something is released to God it is placed under His authority and given to His control. Release frees you from manipulation and from the burden to have the final say. Rest does not ignore personal responsibility but it does release the weight of it. Rest casts all cares on Him and leaves all burdens at His feet. Rest says, "God will sustain me"..."The battle belongs to the Lord"..."The Lord cares for me." Rest asks for God's way and waits for God's time.

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Taking Your God-Given Place

My Monday Prayer: A Prayer of Taking Your God-Given Place
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

My foot stands on an even (well balanced, solid ground) place. Psalm 26:12 Expanded

Lord, you are my hiding place, my dwelling place, my safe place, my secret place, my holy place, and my balanced place. Continue to teach me and instruct me to know Your perfect place for me in every choice I make, in every action I take, and in every word I speak.

Raise up a barrier to hinder me if I am pursuing a place you have not chosen for me;

Bring Your wisdom to me if I am not understanding something about Your ways that needs clarity;

Dry up any pool I am drinking from that is not being fed by Your river; slow me down if I am going after something that is premature in Your plan for me;

Turn me from any confidence I am placing in anyone or anything that is taking my eyes off of You.

Lord, keep my heart from coveting the place you have given others, and guard my heart from envying the ways You are using others. Help me to set my expectations upon You, and not upon the way I think things should be or want them to be.

Lord, settle me and help me take my place—not to run from it, or hide from it; not to fear it, or dread it; not to strive in it, or be anxious about it. Help me daily to know the contentment and the joy of serving You in Your appointed place.

Fret-Free Friday: Surrender!

Fret-Free Friday: Surrender!
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is there anything to hard for Me? (Jeremiah 32:27 AMP).

Surrender to God's will today to take the dread out of tomorrow. The psalmist wrote, "I have not seen the righteous forsaken" (Psalm 37:25). Find your rest in God today, and let Him assume the responsibility for all your tomorrows.

It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not, neither become broken [in spirit—depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm] (Deuteronomy 31:8 AMP, brackets in original).

It is true!
The One who is before you and with you will not fail you.
The One who is before you and with you will not fail you.
The One who is before you and with you will not fail you.
The One who is before you and with you will not fail you.
