A Devotional Journey Through the Psalms: Psalm 5

A Devotional Journey Through the Psalms: Psalm 5
Restore, Renew and Refresh
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies; Make Your way straight before my face…. Let those also who love Your name be joyful in You. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield (Psalm 5:8,11-12).

Those who follow God’s path have so much to gain:

  • The clarity of His guidance.
  • The wisdom of His ways.
  • The influence of His favor.

Those who do not follow God’s path have so much to lose:

  • The shield of His covering.
  • The benefits of His blessing.
  • The strength of His joy.

It’s a good thing to have certain things settled in your heart. “God leads and I follow” is one of those things. It means your feet will walk on straight paths, right paths, and meaningful paths. It means you won’t walk around in circles, busy but never getting anywhere.

Insight: There is never a path in God’s will for your life that leads you to a dead end. Nothing in His will is wasted.

Insight: Don’t look for shortcut signs on God’s path. However, there is a “One Way” sign.
