Ten Certainties for Uncertain Times, Part 5

Ten Certainties for Uncertain Times, Part 5
-Roy Lessin, Meeting in the Meadow

You belong to a Kingdom that cannot be shaken.

We are living in a world that is shakeable. Every system or power that has man as its source will eventually fail. Throughout history, kings have been overthrown, leaders have fallen from power, kingdoms have been conquered, armies have been defeated, riches have been depleted, and fortresses have toppled over. There is no secure place around us where the insecure can find a haven. It is only in the Kingdom of God that anyone can find true rest and security. No rebellion can break down its gates, no weapon can penetrate its borders, and no warrior can come against its King.

Everything about the Kingdom of God is solid, sure, and steady. It is reliable, dependable, and impenetrable. The Kingdom of God is eternal. It is the only Kingdom that will remain. The way of the Kingdom is where your feet can walk; the truth of the Kingdom is what your faith can embrace; the love of the Kingdom is what your heart can give away.

Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven! When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also. ”This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain.

Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire (Hebrews 12:25-29 NLT).
